Safari Clothing/Gear

I liked the Cabelas brand safari shirts and pants. The pants have the zip off so you can convert to shorts. I took two long shirts, one short sleeve shirt and two pants for the hunting. Then one set of travel clothes for the plane. I very comfortable pair of light hikers. Ann bought some SheSafari and some Tag. She liked the SheSafari better as it was cut to fit her. The Tag didn't seem as good of quality as the SheSafari nor the Cabelas.

And, we were both spoiled having the laundry done every day. What a great way to travel light. We had 2 c-rucks, a small duffel, a medium duffel and my rifle case. That was it for 10 days hunting and 2 days fishing.
That's the way to travel.... laundry every day makes this happen!!! I also like and use the zip off long pants converting to shorts ( pack 1 AND YOU HAVE 2 )

I take 2 pairs of drab (green or brown) light weight walking trousers, others say shorts but being ex British Army I wore trousers in all conditions and got used to it (also I don't have the knees for it). 2 lightweight shirt drab again.

I use Crag Hopper most of the time but I'm trying to dye my old desert combat shirts one colour as they are excellent but I don't wear camo now. Always found this enough with a bonded fleece for colder evenings and mornings. Lots of socks with a pair of altberg or lowa desert boots.

All fit in a a soft bag with easy and meet even the strictest internal weight limits.

Over the pass 3-4 years, I've bought a lot clothing and specialty items from a place called "Working Person's Store". http://workingperson.com/
I think they cater to outdoors type construction workers, etc. They have quality stuff and large selections of Carhartt, 5.11 Tactical, UnderArmor, Helley Hansen, multiple brands of boots, etc. They ship things very quickly too.

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.
