Winchester will start making left hand rifles the same time as others make left hand screwdrivers and striped paint. The good thing is the new savage straight pull can be either left or

just got notice these puppies are in stock - a LH 280AI. Ordered it as soon as I saw the email this morning.

I bought one of the first run of them when they were push feeders. Milled out the bottom of the bolt face so the round could slip up under the extractor rather than popping up in front of it.
I was unaware that the later issues push fed happily.
Thought I had something unique.
Thank you for explaining that. I was honestly thinking I was nuts lol

I wouldn't say push feed happily. The bolt close is stiffer, but the extractor will jump over the case head. It's like dropping a round in a Glock barrel, and dropping the slide on it. It will work just fine, but I'd say it's not the best for constant use. When I do load work, all my rifles are Rugers, 264, 7mm, 300, 338, and 375, and I just slide the round partly into the chamber, and close the bolt.

soon as I get dies, bullets, brass, and glass. ;)

I'm really wanting to shoot A Frame 160s out of it, but no data in their manual for AI, and Swift support just says "work up cautiously from the max 280 Rem load." So I will be careful.

For that matter, Geoff at Woodleigh said the same thing Swift did.

+1 Great to deal with. I purchased custom rifle. No issues.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
