SCI & DSC Convention- What hunt will you be looking to for the future?

Any suggestions for my next hunt? List contact person with suggestions.

I’ll be booking another SA hunt with Bos en Dal in January… it’s become something of an annual pilgrimage for us…

If you’re looking for something different, consider talking to David at Celtic Field Sports … he’ll have a booth at DSC…

I’m in Ireland now hunting with them and having a great time (hunt report to follow after getting home)… the country is beautiful, people are wonderful, and the hunting is incredible (and very challenging)… sika deer are much more difficult to hunt than I understood prior to arriving (I do have a wonderful one on the ground now that I am very excited about)… and fallow are proving to be a challenging hunt as well (still working on that)…

For $10k you could do a very nice hunt in Ireland and take a couple of species…and have a very different experience than the places you’ve already hunted…

I’ll likely be looking for some sort of elephant hunt for 2024. Still debating a DIY Alaska moose hunt in the next few years but the more people I talk to, the more I get told to bite the bullet and go guided.

Another hunt that’s rapidly gaining ground on my list is a Mountain Goat Hunt. I keep looking at Kodiak and trying to add deer and some ducks to the hunt.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
