SCI misfires...anybody?

What is going on with SCI lately? Their level of member engagement seems to be on a steep downhill slide. I renewed my membership under a promotion that would provide a $150 KUIU card when purchasing a 3 year membership. That offer expired in the end of September, and I still have yet to receive the KUIU gift card. I have called multiple times and no one answers the phone in member services...ever! I finally got a hold of someone utilizing the "SCI Show" prompt on the phone and they were able to connect me with membership services, who explained that I should have a gift card in a week or so...that was five weeks ago. I have sent a follow up email with no reply for almost two weeks now. Is anybody manning the fort? Is this how they treat their members...just ignore them?

I now notice that their website is down and has an invalid SSL certificate...what the hell is going on with this outfit?? It reminds me of dealing with a company that is on the verge of going out of business. What kind of customer interaction policy is this for an entity of this size and caliber? Anybody else having issues contacting them?
 
I had the same experience on a previous promotion for a kuiu vest. It took multiple phone calls over months before I received the vest. I am convinced that I would never have received it if I hadn’t made myself a pain in the ass. Unprofessional would be a charitable assessment.

That's a lot nicer than what what I would have typed after my encounters with them. I canceled my membership and now spend my conservation dollars at DSC.
 
WOW, that is not what I would have expected. If they have a promotion, it's not up to the customer to track down the gift. :unsure::unsure:
 
I had no problems with customer service. There was a problem with my account on multiple occasions and they helped me out multiple times. Swift and courteous both times.
 
I suspect there may be some growing pains with the move to Texas. I will follow up on this and report back.
The website is not nor has been down lately. It was completely updated but I don't know the dates the changes were made. Are you going directly to www.safariclub.org?
 
Buddy of mine turned in a record book warthog. Measured by official SCI scorer in 2023…he’s still waiting on his plaque after several engagements with them this past year.
 
I had no difficulty getting my Kuiu card.
 
My Kuiu card came as stated, no issues for me, thankfully.
 
It took them 3 months to enter my entries into their online record book. It took another 3 months to get my photo plaques (just got them yesterday after a 6 month wait). I called customer service constantly. They blame everything on their move to San Antonio. Over 6 months, 4 people that I had emailed/called left them for other jobs. It's an absolute ineffective revolving door.

Seems some employees did not want to move from AZ to TX!
 
Another irritating, although not as bad, issue is that I keep getting emails about registering for the convention after registering months ago. Couldn’t they figure out who’s registered already and screen us out?

quit SCI after my friend Irvin Barnhart died and they started scoring science projects in their records, the members were fairly pretentious also if you lived in the wrong zip code,

Yes, tried all of the links last night, show page, contact us, etc. Maybe it was down for maintenance…
 
Yup, just tried calling again just now…no answer. No sense in leaving a message because I have already done that a couple times with no call back.This is getting ridiculous.
 
I received my Kuiu vest fairly quickly but I'm on the thin side physically. Probably the stouter sizes are gobbled up faster than supplies coming in?

$150 gift certificate won't buy much Kuiu gear. Maybe a pair of socks? I was not particularly enamored with the vest, my only Kuiu gear. Too sweaty and the camo pattern is not particularly attractive (though admittedly style doesn't matter much to me when I'm hunting).
