What is the easiest way to ship ammo within the US? An FFL is saying shipping ammo is complicated, but wouldn’t say how. Thanks!!

Any issues declaring what is it, or special handling?
If I do the online print label, there is a box where either it's a drop down menu or I type in "limited quantity small arms ammunition". Nothing special to it as far as cost or anything like that.

It's been a little while since I shipped, but super easy.

I've always read on here that a UPS store won't do it. Customer service center only. I don't have one of those within 100 miles. The one a mile away stopped doing it a couple years ago.
I've got some oddball ammo I've always wanted to try and sell but haven't tried yet for that reason.
22 jet, 5mm rim fire and a couple others.

I just experienced this the hard way. UPS has changed its system and shipping ammo must be done through a main customer service center.
I don’t have one close either-in fact they closed the one that was here. After dealing with my local ffl friend and a couple strangers on gunbroker, it seems FedEx is the best current option. I have not had occasion to send with them but have received multiple pkgs and they have been seamless. Good luck!

Schedule a pickup.

FYI, UPS Stores won't even sell you an empty box if you mention it's for anything gun related. Has to go thru main center.

not so. find a UPS Main Center NOT a franchise store. Then stick on your ammunition decal easily found online then easy!!!

UPS Ground all the way!

Never a problem.

Find a distribution center. "UPS Stores" are a rip off.

My son buys and sells a lot of stuff online. He uses https://www.pirateship.com/ and gets much better shipping rates than I can.

It's only as complicated as putting a shipping label on a box and paying UPS to ship it...

A good friend who I bought some ammo from, sent this to me.

"As of 1/1/24 ammo will only ship from dealer to dealer per UPS and FedEx. They did not say if it was Florida, their own or Federal rules."

Could be that part of FL, and they make their own rules. Or the idiots behind the counter don't know what to do. Who knows. A bit frustrating!

Straight from UPS web site

I'm not sure with FedX since their web site is a mess trying to navigate it.

I don't believe he showed them this website, but both said flat out no. Weird how one place will ship, no questions asked, and another place will say no.

The problem with walking into a shipping center is that unless they are educated with the companies policy what they say goes.

No different than walking up to a airline ticket agent and having them telling you something that had nothing to do with the airlines policy.

I am also sure that if it was from dealer to dealer FFL holder to FFL holder then there are going to be a lot of online catalogs going out of business.

FedEx won't ship ammo.

Last few times I've done it with the correct labels and scheduled a pickup at my work office via UPS Ground.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
