Much appreciate hearing what others paid to ship trophies from Europe, especially Hungary. I shot two gold medal stags in Hungary, and the cost to ship them stateside is obscenely high. To JFK, the cost is about $4000+. To Atlanta, about $4500. The crate is almost $1000. A business class ticket on Lufthansa to Cluj Napoca, which I am now booking for a bear, chamois hunt, is a lot less than freight. Any tips and insights much appreciated.

Do you have an opportunity to get other estimates? I don’t think I’ve ever paid over $1200 shipping from Europe to port of entry in US.

I'm going to ask. Do you recall last time you paid for Europe to USA freight? I paid $2200 a few years back to ship a large crate from Namibia. I understand freight prices are higher, post Covid, but . . .

My last European shipping was $830 September 2024 from Romania to Chicago for 3 large fallow deer skulls on plaques.

My previous shipment was June of 2022 from Spain to Chicago for a beceite ibex and 4 roe bucks mounted on plaques for $805.

Do you recall the company used to ship them? I had a feeling my $4k+ quote had a very heavy hand on the scale.
