So.......what COMPANIES do you dislike?

I will try to put the thread back on track...

I don't like:

Carhardt - woke
Levi - woke
Target - woke
Dick's - woke
Hibbet's - too expensive and they don't even carry tennis shoes! (Shoes actually used for tennis)

Bass Pro - they never have what I want, and when they do, I can almost always find a better price somewhere else. (They also almost always destroy, mom & pop stores if they open up one within a 50 mile radius). A BPS gift cards may be the most frustrating gifts anyone can give me!

Costco - woke (I was coming close to becoming a member, but, now I will pass)

"Big" Banks - Bank of America, Citibank, Wells Fargo, Chase...

Burris Optics - I like some of their optics quite a bit, but their customer service can be absolutely horrible human beings at times.

Cabela's/Bass Pro - I understand people's complaints about some of Cabela's business practices before they were bought out by BPS. But as a consumer, they were a nice store to go to. Their customer service and lifetime warranty on store brand items was what kept so many people going back despite their prices often being higher. However, they sometimes had great sales that made up for it. When BPS bought them the first thing they did was cut out any good sales, destroyed good customer service, and got rid of the lifetime warranty on store brand items. All while keeping prices very high.

Well, we've done firearms and calibers............so, what companies do you dislike, for whatever reason. I have three (at the moment)

Remington: I've never seen a company that loves to take something good (or in some instances, great), and turn around and cheapen it to the point where it is worth it...........welcome to Remington arms. For the record, I have several older Remington firearms that I cherish hunting with, but the stuff they are putting out now.........it's pure crap!! Plastic parts which were formerly metal, the break easily and replacement parts that are way too expensive for what they cost to make............it's almost as if it were planned. No thanks; newer Remington firearms will never find a place in my gun cabinet. They also have decided to quit supplying reloading components, which has left me in a bit of a lurch. Guess this is what happens when a good "family" business gets bought by a "conglomerate".

Hodgdon Powder company: Hodgdon powder company bought the Winchester powder line and the DuPont powder line.........then promptly discontinued many of the offerings (as well as some of their own) without having ready substitutes or data. Then they made the "big announcement" of "new" powders, which they promptly discontinued after about 5 years (once people had bought the stuff and worked up loads for it). When they came out with their "new" data book, I bought it, thinking that there would be new loads for the new powders. what did I find? Data listing all the old powders which they discontinued over 20 or so years ago! don't bother to complain; they do not reply. In addition, the powders that they supposedly do still manufacture have been off the shelves for years!!! They really do not know how to treat the people that are their "bread and butter", nor do they care. I guess military contracts are worth more than sportsmen and women.

Alliant Powder company: This is the company that I hate the most! I hope it goes belly up and its CEO and board members rot in hell! Last year, Alliant decided it would no longer sell to the general public. It wasn't really a surprise, as just about ANY Alliant powder was impossible to find! I started reloading shotgun shells using green dot, red dot, Herco, Unique, and blue dot. When I started shooting handguns, I added 2400, and when they came out with STEEL, I started reloading steel shotshells and hevi shot in earnest. When they brought back their rifle powders, I started using reloader 7 and Reloader 19......now to find that all the money I spent on working up loads using these powders is now useless and obsolete! I'm glad I loaded up a TON of steel shotshells, because STEEL was the ONLY powder that gave good performance in a nontoxic handload.........and now I'm left in a lurch if I wish to load any more.
Oh, and don't bother to try and contact them............as with Hodgdon, they don't give a damn about your opinions or concerns............its just crickets!

So how abought it..............now is you time to vent!!! What companies do you hate?
Somebody must have named Disney already, but they have been poisoning the.minds of children since "Bambi" in 1942.

The funny thing is the Disney movie was based on a book written by an Austrian deer hunter. I have it and it’s actually a great story. It was never intended to be used for anti hunting propaganda but rather to make a point of differentiating between ethical and unethical hunting practices. I like to bring it to read in camp to confuse the other guys.

Reveal- Customer service. Moved to WiseEye and these guys are Great.
Ravin- These guys have a great product however the customer service is the worst!

I dislike companies that follow the textbook "take all stratifications of the market".

Vortex - The cheapest, junkiest scopes on the planet all the way up to multi-thousand dollar optics. They've already proven to me that they'll cut a corner, even if it ruins their reputation.

Weatherby - They were so obsessed with "speed kills" that their hubris ignored 200 years of proper stock making. To convince people to pay their asking prices, they spent all their efforts on polishing metal to high gloss and by selecting woods that had bling. It's still an unremarkable barreled action in a goofy stock with bullets going needlessly fast.

Dakota via Remington - I'm a huge Dakota fan, but I deeply resent what Remington and their other holdings did to them. They took a storied, ultra-quality brand and forced them to start making monstrosities for Nesika, Marlin Custom Shop, and any other whatever company in the name of organizational efficiency. Its like forcing Rigby to also manufacture floor wax...I don't think we'd respect Rigby any longer.

The luxury holding companies that possess the British fine gun trade - When you're dealing with Cartier, Louis Vuitton, and others as owners, they view their holdings as "lifestyle brands". They are more interested in selling a $400 pair of socks that has a manufacturing cost of $15 than actually focusing on the bespoke arms that made them famous. It's desecration. If I was worth a billion tomorrow, I'd never buy a new bespoke H&H for this reason, or a Purdey (they also own Panerei watches). I wanted a best gun, not a lifestyle.

Browning - It's not their guns I dislike, it's the irrational interest in their guns. John Moses Browning was an inventor. He farmed out his designs to the lowest reasonable quality bidder as did his successors. Gushing over a Japanese Miroku or an FNH because this particular gun got a line of script on it that says "Browning" is just weird to me. The obsession with unused, never handled, in the box collecting is also weird to me. People get Browning decals and tattoos as well, that's really weird to me considering the owners of the copyright will put that on anything from a Chinese made cooler to a BBQ grill tongs.

Not sure about Vortex. I have one scope and one binocular. They seem.to be fine for my purpose and the price paid. Both.items are over seven years old, so.maybe the quality issues are recent?

Everything else you wrote though, I agree 100%.

Oh - well, if we are opening up to non-firearm companies!

Target - gay agenda
Carhart - forced jab
Hornady - forgot from earlier - lied about supporting .375 Ruger, forced jab
NFL - gave money to BLM which is run by communists
TSA - sheeple trainers for no increase in security
Lot of gay people shop at Target lots of gay employees

Dude have you looked at the NFL? 70% of the league is black.

So how abought it..............now is you time to vent!!! What companies do you hate?

I'm 52 I quit buying Remington guns in my mid 20s. Remington today is pathetic compared to when I was a kid. The best firearms you will get from Remington is from the custom shop.

Companies I get annoyed with or don't like.

Zeiss.............believe it or not Zeiss probably makes the best glass in the world but unlike Swarovski they will make something great then discontinue it

Sako just sad to see what they are making these days. They seemed to have gotten away from beautiful wood stocked rifles. Everything seems like its carbon fiber or plastic. Their actions are still incredible but I just don't like the look of the stuff they make now. Wish they would bring back the Grey Wolf laminate wood series

Swift Bullets...........Love Bill Hober but they seem to never have any big bore dangerous game A Frames. Its like you have to call and beg them to make 3 or 4 boxes

Benelli/Beretta........Incredible shotguns but they both virtually ignore the passionate turkey hunter for upland and duck hunters

Spectrum Cable...............Nearly 300$ a month for basic cable and internet service

Royal Caribbean..........worse than the greediest strippers at a strip club trying to up sell you. They up sell EVERYTHING accept the air you breath on Royal Caribbean. If they could sell you air on their ships they would. You pay all this money to get room then they start hitting you with drink packages, food packages, when you go to one of their islands its 3 or 4 more different packages and you're still paying for food and drinks separately. Their cruises aren't all inclusive but scams. Imagine if you went on a safari and the PH told you that food, beverages, trackers, skinning and use of a hunting vehicle were all additional fees and daily rates.

American Airlines........If it's drizzling outside your flight will be cancelled or late, almost guaranteed

United Airlines/Newark Airport.........Probably the worst international airport in the United States, definitely the worst on the east coast. Right outside of NYC they only have 2 run ways in operation. Anti gun, uncomfortable seats, rude flight attendants, loss & destruction of your firearms if not careful

Disney/ESPN/SEC..........ESPN's greed along with the SEC has ruined college football with uneven television contracts, conference expansion, and a corrupt selection committee for the 12 team playoff format.

Fountaine Blue Hotel Miami Beach/Las Vegas............ridiculously over priced for their rooms and they try to charge an additional 500-800$ daily for a pool cabana with shade on super hot days during the summer. They tried to sell my 14 year old daughter a 700$ Versace bathing suit, told her to charge it to the room.

Are those supposed to be good reasons not to hate (boycot) those two businesses?

As far as the NFL/BLM issue goes, when a huge percentage of your profits comes from the white, non-communist community, it probably isn't too smart to openly disrespect them.

Fed Ex - lack of responsibility for destroying firearms or loosing packages
They lost a rifle being returned to me from Ruger a little over a month ago. Some honest person found it in the middle of the road in a subdivision about 4 miles down the road from my house. They left it at my gate with a hand written note on it. Thankfully they didn’t open the box to know what was in it. I tried to file a complaint with FedEx. It went no where.

Ruger. They use crude cast parts for everything, and it means the action ends up being 20% chunkier all around, and harder to keep clean and rougher to operate. Compare a M77 to a proper Mauser action or a No. 1 to a Dakota 10 and it’s like comparing Waterford crystal to something from the Mainstays collection.

Whoever marketed the 6.5 Creedmoor.

Anyone that makes you download their app. I need another app and login/password to remember like I need a 12 gauge to the face.

CZ for discontinuing the 550 but especially for disconnecting the 527. You can get a standard Mauser style action anywhere but the micro sized Mauser action is a thing of beauty.

Vanguard for changing their website to deliberately making trading complicated so you sign up for their premium services.

AT&T and Progressive Insurance. I have my reasons.

General Motors! GM cried in the 2007 that it needed a bailout or it would go through bankruptcy and lose the trust of all of its vendors and cease to exist!
The US tax payer bails them out to the tune of $50 million! As soon as GM got their cash they stick it all into their worker pension plans and immediately file for bankruptcy! Total fraud on the US tax payer!!!
Then to rub salt into the wound of the US tax payer the Obama admin that oversaw the bankruptcy case gives the auto union a massive chunk of ownership as a kickback!
Aaaaand in the end did any of their vendors ditch them? Nope!!! The deal was a massive fraud on the US tax payer by GM and the Democrat party…

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
To much to political shit, to little Africa :-)
Spending a few years hunting out west then back to Africa!
