SOUTH AFRICA: A Second Trip To the Eastern Cape With GAME 4 AFRICA SAFARIS

I had an eland stew, and it was amazing. Couldn’t get enough of it. :ROFLMAO:
Putting eland in a stew sounds like a crime Lol. If I could bring one meat back with me it would be eland.

Two others I remember - I didn't kill them - were mountain reedbuck and duiker. Those were new for me and both were excellent.
Duiker is one of the few game meats I’ve never tried in Africa. They apparently have a habit of eating anything, especially the ones near farm fields and villages, so they don’t get kept for camp meat in a lot of areas.

LOL, let me rephrase. Wik called it stew, but for me it was more like a soup, and trust me on this, it was delicious, super tender, and I have no clue of what type of vegies it had, but man it was good! :ROFLMAO:

African Vegies

I'm not sure but there probably are local varieties we don't see much.

All those options it seems like they were holding out on me.

It was all good food. The Lamb roast on arrival day was amazing. The Milk Torte for desert was great.

I recall Gemsbok stood out among what we ate. We had backstrap from a couple of species that don't grow in Australia.

Now I think of it much of the Braii meat was not seasoned and my PH Lionel did a lot of the cooking. Staff had a lot of stuff prepared and he would BBQ some meat when we were ready.

The Rusks were pretty good too, I like dunking biscuits.

Hi Terry,

Was fun to read your hunting report.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
I had a good laugh when you described the woman you like:ROFLMAO:
We cant wait to have your family over with us and to do it all over again.

Kind Regards
Wik

Fantastic write up. Congratulations on such a successful trip. I hope all works out for you and your daughters to have another go at it. Very fine trophies. Pics are fantastic, especially the non trophy ones. Funny how the little things get forgotten so readily but make such an impact at the time. Having those extra pics are great. Thanks for sharing.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
