Over the past few months, I've been working on making two photobooks of our hunt last summer. I'm finding it's a great way to commemorate the hunt and a great way to actual do something with all the photos we took, rather then have them sitting on my hard-drive.
Part one just arrived in the mail and looks outstanding. It comes in a very nice protective box. I put one of Jody's coasters next to it for a size reference. This book is 12 in high x 15 in long, the biggest size- many sizes to choose from.
The cover on our photobook is faux-leather. you can also get real leather (fewer color choices), fabric cover, photo cover, etc.
To make the layouts, I used PowerPoint. you can also use photoshop or whatever sort of software you're comfortable with.
I used adoramapix to make my book. They seem to have the highest quality books based on the research I did. I'm really impressed with the quality of the photos, the cover, really the whole package.
Adoramapix has a great process. They are essentially printing a picture of the entire spread (both pages, so 12x30 in for mine). the neat thing is that the pages lay flat- no gutter to worry about obscuring part of a photo.
The individual pages are quite think and sturdy- they don't really bend.
I varied my layouts between trophy photos and action shots. I used photos taken on my camera and screen captures from gopro footage.
The text in the book is mostly pulled from my hunt report here on AH, with a bit more detail. I also included quotes from famous hunters and africa themed quotes.
These make a great gift too. I made copies for my parents and in laws.

And here's a link to photobook girl- a blog that had good advice and explanations on how to make a photobook. Also, she usually has some sort of discount code posted (I saved 30% on my order- which adds up quick if you order multiple books):
