We have been to South Africa 4 times. All great hunts, but the most recent with @Bos en Dal SAFARIS was the best. They are about treating you like family, going overboard to give you the best hospitality. We had already taken most of the common plains game, so we have the more difficult game to take now.
We spent our first week looking for bushbuck with a bow and arrow. We saw more bushbuck than all of our other trips combined. Didn't actually get one, but had very close encounters, including a buck brushing the blind on the wrong side.

We started the week off with a double birthday party. Gerrit had his birthday on the same day as my husband. The whole family came to celebrate including Gerrit and Yolandi's parents. Their children also have a passion for hunting and hospitality. Yolanda brought a birthday cake for both of the guys.

We took several excursions. One to a big cat Sanctuary with Rikus, elephant Sanctuary with the whole family, including a nice lunch afterwards. The last day was spent at Pilanesburg National Park, where we saw many animals close up. Rikus knew exactly what roads to take. The tour was actually better than the park tours. We had lunch st the park and watched impala and warthog from the deck. We also had a sunset game drive on the 4000 acres at the lodge.

Even though we had already taken many plains game, we still took 8 animals on this trip. We spent a few days at a lodge in the FreeState. We took.a copper springbuck, black springbuck, SCI Gold medal Barbary Sheep and a Gold medal Common Reedbuck. He even dhot a porcupine at the FreeState lodge. The sheep and reedbuck were spot and stalk with a bow. We tried for black wildebeast, but they would not come near any cover for the bow. My husband did get a black wildebeast, but used the 30-06. We took a white blesbuck and a wildebeast at the lodge.

Our cook made spectacular meals, including homemade ice cream several times. She set up a gamedrive for me, while my husband was on a hunt. We also had a ladies day out in Rustenburg which was a lot of fun.

Every minute from pickup to drop off was spectacular. Planning on another trip in 2 years, depending on the world situation.
