SOUTH AFRICA: Great Land Safaris Goes Buck Wild Pt 2

Well I have to give credit where credit is due. I submitted a claim through Delta Cargo asking to be reimbursed fro my storage fees due to their error in losing the paperwork. My importer said there was slim to no chance as they had never heard of an airline doing this much less Delta. Well I played "the game" for the past 5 weeks and finally got through to a claims agent that was helpful. I rec'd this email yesterday- fingers crossed the check actually arrives !

Update- Delta paid the storage fees and all capes made it back from tannery in great shape

Love that Honey badger, I've spent quite a few nights watching bait over the last two years and nothing yet.

Spectacular sable! Love it. Oh by the way I hate the you shot a klipspringer! LOL! My nemesis! Very very nice too! Congratulations

I hear yeah Johnny. It was the only animal in 4 safaris that I drew blood and didn’t recover ( that was 2015). The shot was very late and we left him in a steep valley until the next day. We never found him. I’m convinced something made off with him in the night so I wasn’t letting it go  We saw at least 4 mature males in two days- there were lots of klipies on that one area.

I’m envious of your honey badger! They are awesome creatures of the night!
Looking forward to all the mounts!

Congrats on the "win" versus the airlines!! Always a fun day when you get to open a crate!!!!!!!

I hunted with John henry back in 2013,hunting his place and Momba.the mountains of Momba are very steep, but well worth the climb! I took a very nice Klippie and a 60"kudu there.Momba still holds many large Kudu in the remote sections of the mountains!

I'd love to see the picture of your kudu. I saw a pic you posted of the mount but I'd like to see your field pics. I must have been there the year after you left and also killed a very nice 58.5" that broke his tips rolling down in the rocks. He's 60" now :ROFLMAO:. You are also the 3rd or 4th taxidermist I know that has hunted with JH. One of my best friends arrives in SA tomrw to start his hunt there.

My 2015 kudu

I’m finally getting some taxidermy started. Converted this form into a wall pedestal bushpig with a little eye rotation attitude.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.
