SOUTH AFRICA: Lalapa Safaris

Great report ... you may be preaching to the converted ... but we can all use a little open communion among brethren!!!

Great time, great read, and great trophies.

Thanks for all your kind words. I am hoping to write more reports in the future(y).

Yeah, I'm sure that someone somewhere went to Africa once and didn't want to go back, but I've never met them. :)

Thanks for taking the time to write this report. It was a very good read.

Awesome guy Ray is and he runs a top operation (lalapa safaris).

Well done!

Great Report and Awesome photos Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the great report. Ray is a good guy, but I like Patrick better. :)

Thanks AB2506, I read your hunting report and I know you had a good hunt with Patrick. As I do more research on Africa hunting I have come to the conclusion that there are lots of reputable safaris operators in South Africa. They all offer quality hunting and accommodations. So, really it comes down to person connecting with your PH. After all, your going to spend a good deal of time with them and a lot of hard earned money. I would have no problem booking another hunt with either Ray or Patrick. However, if I booked a hunt with someone else, I would want to spend some time in person with them to determine if we "hit it off". Just my thoughts......

Which is why the African Hunting Shows that have been coming to Calgary for the last few years are so valuable. If not for them, I would have to travel to SCI, or DSC etc to speak with the outfitters in person and get that "read of them". It was invaluable to me. By the time I made my decision, I already had great peace of mind, but I had met Patrick and Jennifer in person and knew that we just hit it off from the get go. You can't really do that from Emails and phone calls.

Can't wait to go back again, hopefully soon.

BTW: I hunted on Ray's place. That's where the warthog and mountain reedbok came from. That's Penny with the Reedbok.

Yes, a Africa Hunting Show was held for the first time in Saskatoon, this past January. I understand they are coming back next year. There are not a lot of people in Saskatchewan , but there are a lot of serious hunters so I hope the event is a success for the outfitters attending.
