I'm excited for you to get your taxidermy back too! I'm having my stuff done at the same place! I have the same concerns that you do but I also have the same reasons as you for having them do it. I read on here (a lot) on how the price of getting it done "at home" is very close in price to having it done in South Africa and then shipped over. That really makes me wonder if taxidermy is that much cheaper in the US than it is up here in Canada.

Oh ya us is way more competitive making the prices come down. In Ontario we have 2 taxidermists licensed to bring stuff in. So they know that, and charge like they know it. Shipping I had quoted with completed trophies and one with just dip and pack. It wasn't a huge difference. Completed trophies I have a quote to my door for $2000. Dip and pack was $1200. But then I have like $400 in fees and licensing with untanned hides. And then the dip and pack itself was like $1100. So it was already more expensive to dip and pack. Then include the fact taxidermy over there was about 40% - 50% cheaper then Canada. So we will see how it turns out.
