The 1884 hunt in "De Zuid Afrikaansche republiek"

...., what are we going to do with all the 11.15 x 60R brass ...we have just too many brass ..I bought about sixty to eighty pieces...DirtDart really was a great help to acquire these brass ...thank you again Dirtdart, it really is much , much appreciated....

We do NOT have to many...

Keep them, I'll take them all.

These cases are extremely rare and hard to get.

I have several different 11,15 rifles to feed....and they are all hungry!

I have three 11.15 x 60R rifles..counting yours as well, we need now to purchase more brass Georg...:LOL::LOL::LOL:

This will not be possible anymore Sir, there are a few Boers who still can ride a horse with a Mauser in his hands...so, it will not be possible to get a battalion of Boer fighters together...they have become complacent and lazy...:LOL::LOL::LOL:

I can not ride a horse, not even with two hands.

Don't tell me, I have to learn this.....

Georg, I was thinking of taking two horses next year on the 1885 black powder hunt...we will get near the game to get better shots...I will teach you to ride a horse..tomorrow my friend Chris Moolman and me is going to catch four wild horses to learn...the previous wild horse we caught and trained threw me and I damaged my back...got a lower back pain-block procedure and it goes better ...but I am sure we will be able to train these two nice looking horses for next year `s hunt..otherwise I will take two more tamed horses to the hunt..one for you and one for me..you can ride my horse, she is a tamed mare with good behaviour...I will take one of the horses we will catch and load tomorrow for training...(y)(y)

Found two boxes of 12 ga. black powder shotgun cartridges.....

Please ask the guys how many we need.

They also can make Brenneke slugs in 12 ga.and 16 ga.

First..you have to remove those new world sights ..it is not allowed...we are going to host an International Black powder hunt after our local 1885 Era Black powder hunt..I need six international participants in this black powder hunt ...we will supply all the black powder, reloading equipment, shooting components..you just need to inform us what original black powder rifle you would be hunting with...The era we will re-enact will be from 1884-1889. If you shoot a trophy, it can be dip, ship and send ...this is one of the largest game farms in Limpopo Vaalwater/Ellisras region...All hunts will be on foot with a guide ...please PM me if you are interested in a Black Powder re-enactment hunt like the Boer hunters/Voortrekker hunters of old...

Good day to all members. I believe all is well and good on your side?? Members, here are some information in regards to how our next 1885 Era Black powder in 2020 will be organised. We are currently establishing a new camp site on a Game Farm near Ellisras , Limpopo... We decided to invite three international hunters, all members of our forum to form part of our Traditional black powder hunt in 2020.

This is what we had decided thus far:
Items that wil be supplied for each hunter:
All food /drinks of the camp for free made in the camp for all hunters
A Bell tent ( replica of tent used in the Anglo-Boer war/hunters time)
Two sets of clothing representing the 1885 era
Pair of Velskoene ( Boer attire shoes of that era)
Black powder rifle ( original/copy )
All Black powder/bullets
Participating in all activities like , forging knifes/axes, making leather shoes( vellies) ,Making your own leather whip, field dressing the game you hunt, preparing your trophy yourself, processing the game meat hunted by you/every one.
The common species we usually hunt is available to you , we will use the meat for our own consumption/biltong...
Common species includes: Springbuck, Impala, Kudu , warthog, Blue Wildebeest, Eland.
Special species available to hunt( for your own trophy/own bill/meat are used for camp purposes, ship/dip for your own bill, no day fees, part of the camp hunt : Buffalo, Sable, Njala , Giraffe .

You are welcome to stay and hunt after completing the Black powder hunt, normal International hunting fees apply then, as well as accommodation ...

This is in short what we are discussing at the moment....there will be changes in the final concept..cost of individual international hunter participating in our hunt will still be determined in the final concept ...

If you are interested please PM me ...please take a look at all the previous 1885 Era Black powder hunts...
I really want to hear from members of this great forum...

I have three 11.15 x 60R rifles..

Did the two M71/84 finally arrive in South Africa?

Any problem with shipping, custom, registration and so on?

HWL I will be asking a visiting hunter to bring the two old rifles in...I need to complete all the relevant permanent import documentation and send it to the relevant authorities. Will let you know what progress i am making. I do not believe it to be an issue that can not be solve ...

Found a tongs for depriming 11,15x60R berdan cases.
Not a replica, but an old one, made from solid brass and works fine.
For loading the old warhorse in the field….
