Yesterday I wired my deposit to return to Africa. I AM SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!

If you're looking for stoicism, maybe keep on looking. You won't find it here. 55 years old and hunting, for me, is still very much like an 8 year old with his Halloween bounty kind of thing.

The game plan is @GAME 4 AFRICA SAFARIS in early June with both of my daughters (21 and 19). The details will get worked out but money has been sent.

I guess I really need to start thinking about my justifications for trip number three.

Awesome Tundra Tiger, I am envious, I am hoping to save up enough to go in a year or two, have been emailing a couple of PH’s with questions already, if I wasn’t still building my house I might be able to do it, looking forward to hearing your planning details.

I am 65 and after many trips still get excited. Especially today where I am updating my Garmin Inreach+, organizing each country's paperwork, packing suitcase etc., etc.. In a little bit will be cutting foam for my guns for the Pelican. Wheels up in 4 days.

Packing is a bit different as I have 10 days of glamping at Hwange and Victoria Falls before the safari and have to separate clothes etc. for that to put in girlfriend's luggage as my safari luggage and guns stay behind with CMS.

Did my first safari with them. You will love it!!!

If you can't get excited, what's the point in living. I still get excited when I see an eagle, whitetail within 50 yards, dolphin, etc. Going on another trip to the dark continent? Are you kidding me. Congratulations and enjoy with the daughters. Making memories.

My wife Tess and I are in Vic Falls right now, on the terrace of the Vic Falls Hotel having a cup of tea. The next story in the making...

Ever since I came back from my hunting trip ( yes report will follow ;) ) I am longing to go back. So I know the feeling and happy for you to know your going back.

In a way your hunt has already started.

No justifications... for me? Very true. For my wife/financial manager... reasons are appreciated/necessity. ;):ROFLMAO:
@Tundra Tiger … how about = “Retains Balance & Sanity in a current Unbalanced & Insane World.

For me … two (2) Outdoor Adventures a year always has my mind on some level of preparation & planning, fine tuning or maybe some new gear purchases + motivates the early morning rise for the j.o.b.!

Enjoy your return & accompanied by your Daughters = how cool!

Happy Trails.

Kevin, mid-July at Vic Falls: how is the water level going over the Falls? The year I went, it was pretty dry and just a small bit of water going over on the Zim side.

@Tundra Tiger excellent choice! I know you and your daughters will have a great time hunting with Wik and the entire crew at @GAME 4 AFRICA SAFARIS. Already looking forward to reading your report.

Congrats @Tundra Tiger and good for you, hope you have a great trip! I would be as excited as you if I could convince my kids to go. Just finished my second hunt and looking forward to the 3rd.

Sounds like an awesome family experience. You are fortunate to have family member interested in the trip. Good luck and remember, tomorrow is promised to no one. Even if it has to be scaled back a bit, take that third trip.

Congratulations TT, I’m still working on a return trip with G4A, my wife and I really enjoyed our time with them in 18 as you did in 19 if I remember correctly. My youngest daughter wants to go some day but graduate school and a wedding has gotten in the way! Hopefully now that these formalities are out of the way we can make it over.
Now it’s time for the longest year except maybe in a war zone waiting for the trip as I’m sure you’re well aware of!
