Thinking of purchasing a New CZ 550 375 HH thoughts ??

It sounds a little like you are blaming the cartridge for a bum rifle here. The .375 will do whatever is needed of a shoulder fired rifle, plain and simple. Perhaps not the best heavy game rifle and not the best small game rifle but the no question best all around rifle cartridge that ever was.

congrats on your new CZ, may she serve you well.

I have a CZ 550 American safari in 375 H&H. Own it, love it, shoot it, tack driver, nuff said.

I own both the Cz and Winchester. I have never had a problem with either. One i.e. 375-Winchester the other is 416 Rigby. I love them both.

I have a CZ 550 in 500 Jeffery that started out life as a 375 H&H. Love the gun, if you buy one make sure you work the bolt, test the safety and dry fire it. If they won't let you dry fire it go to a different gun store. I had Wayne at AHR replace the trigger with a single stage match trigger, straighten and fill the bolt, and install an M70 type 3 position safety. None of these changes/upgrades were necessary, just things I wanted. I have an M70 CRF in 416 Rem, and while it is a fine gun, in my opinion the CZ is a superior weapon. Billet steel, solid as a German tank. Great rifle, I think it's weight lends itself to heavier calibers (450 Rigby, 500 Jeffery, 505 Gibbs, etc.)

My 500 Jeffery

A 450 feral hog I took at 8 feet with it in the thick stuff hunting with my youngest son (he got a bigger one)

Theres a pawn shop near me that has one in 375 H&H for 900.00 plus tax. It's about a 98% gun. I thought that was high. The action was pretty smooth already and trigger was very good. Wish he would lower price. That's all I need is another 375 lol.

Have 2 a 416 and a 375 both second hand ...no complaints and would trust either of them if the occasion arose. ......
