The TTSX needs more velocity to perform well, but the benefit is that it seems more consistent in its performance to me, and causes less unnecessary meat damage at those higher velocities.

Yep I agree. I think a 180 grainer out of a .30 caliber magnum would fling it fast enough to open up good. I think the trophy bonded tips are a good compromise between deep penetration and tissue damage. They're both excellent choices for heavy boned game.

I've used them out of a 30.06 in 180 grain offering for elk, whitetail, black bear, wild boar, and I consider them to be the cat's pajamas. I used one to break both shoulders on a spike elk at about 200 yards. I've recovered a couple that went through whitetail length wise and they look like the pictures from a Federal brochure. Perfect mushrooms with long perfect thanks. Truly beautiful lol .
There's probably bullets that are just about as good (a frame comes to mind) but trophy bonded tips are my favorite

I’m glad to hear that they are working so well for those that have used them. Federal have since released their Terminal Ascent projectile. A bullet built exactly the same but for those wanting a long range bullet with very high BC. I am working with them now in 30 cal. They make a 200 gr pill that is very efficient but you need a faster twist barrel then what I have as 50% of shots at 100 yds have slightly oval holes in the target. I’m driving them at 3000 in my Weatherby, maybe at 200 yds they may be stabilizing, haven’t checked yet, but the 175 grs are working fine.

$162.99 for 25 bullets, that's $6.51 every trigger pull not counting primers, brass, and powder.They sell 20 loaded rounds of 375 H&H with the TBBC for $130.99, just does not make sense in my mind. The Trophy Boned Tip bullets are much more reasonable.

I like heavy for caliber bullets in factory loadings for large animals. My plains game rifle is a 300 Win. Since I also desire the best possible accuracy I shot most of the 200gr premium bullet loadings. The best accuracy in my rifle, right at MOA; was with the 200gr TBBC. Since then I have used that loading exclusively. The few recovered bullets were perfectly mushroomed and 90%+ weight retention. With the introduction of the TBT I may no longer be able to get the TBBCs but I expect no change in accuracy or performance as I understand they are the same bullet except for the plastic tip to to prevent nose distortion.

Yes that’s the way I find them. The Trophy bonded tip is only made in 165gr and 180 gr. If you are after a 200 gr you will have to go to the Terminal Ascent bullet . The same construction only in a much higher BC, suppose to have match accuracy.

Thanks for the information. I only use that rifle for hunting, I am in my mid 70s, and I have a couple of hundred rounds of the original 200gr loads so it will probably not be an issue for me. However, it sounds like the Terminal Ascent bullet would be an excellent replacement.
