United Airlines Non-Stop Flights

Heads up. If you live in the NY Metro area, United Airlines now has daily non-stop flights from Newark (NJ) to Johannesburg.

This is old news. It came out more than a month ago. Anyone that may have already taken this route, please comment on the travel.

I just booked this flight for July thru Lori at @TRAVEL EXPRESS. I’m trying the premium plus bulkhead seats which were $1000 cheaper than Delta. I’m hoping going thru Newark with firearms is not a problem as some have commented. Anyway it’s great to have some options to SA . I would like to hear back on the bulkhead seats when anyone flys it. I always booked these seats on Delta and really liked the extra leg room.

The good news is it eliminates the JNB to Cape Town short hop, as it is a true non-stop between EWR and JNB. Also, it appears to be daily, 7 days a week. Price for business class is half what Delta charges from Atlanta.

It appears these threads do not show up under "new posts". That's where I look for new and updated threads/posts.

One of the features when you go to create a new thread is a search engines will list similar worded titles and you can see if a thread already exists. Instead of creating a new thread, then you can simply add your comment to the existing thread.

I have been looking at this route as well. What are the thoughts about flying into Newark when returning? I know New Jersey has some crazy gun laws if you were to have to leave the airport, but getting the guns out of international baggage and rechecking domestic, have issues??

I flew out of EWR (Newark) and returned the last time I went to RSA. The only issue if you venture out of the airport is handgun laws/concealed carry. Get yourself some good intel on that or you can get into a real fix.

What was your experience with the newark airport, especially customs/security. I was booked with delta thru Atlanta but canceled multiple times. Worried about the Newark Airport with a gun. Thanks

I'm hoping to take that route next year. It's about a 5 hour drive from my place and I've got some family near the airport so it would be perfect
