USA: First Fenced Hunt

I’ve done 3 high fenced hunts in Texas, i lucked out and they were big places. First thing to do is establish how you want to hunt ei spot and stalk. My first hunt i had a young guide and we walked our butts off and were successful, very enjoyable. Second was with the same outfit and was a lot of fun, third was with a different outfit there again I set boundaries as to how I wanted to hunt.

I don't enjoy the meat, but if I do eat it, chicken fried backstop isn't bad.

High fenced sheep hunts are can vary greatly from operation to operation. Mostly, those that buy them for hunting, and do not have breeding herds tend to be less of a hunt and more of a 'shoot'. It may or may not be for everyone. The larger operations, with 10+K acres, breading herds, and topography/ natural cover, are actually a challenging hunt. Free range Aoudad hunting, in West Texas, should be on everyone's list.

This is a very very large High Fence operation and the fences don't play into it. Expect long shots.

Free Range Aoudad. Unbelievable hard to spot them. They see you like Speed Goats from farther than you see them. They require a stalk. Topography is amazing to hunt.

Is this a HF Aoudad hunt on 10K acres? or totally free range Aoudad?

I've done 2 free range West Texas aoudad hunts and I'd sooner do 10 of those hunts than 1 desert bighorn for the same money.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
