Many of you have experienced Victoria Falls and all it has to offer. My wife and I will be going there in May after a 10-day Cape Buffalo hunt. Your input as to what to do and see at Victoria Fall in the 3-4 days we've allotted before we return home would be priceless. Thank you for any tips or direction you might suggest.

I would highly recommend that you do the tour of the falls before the safari! After you are going to be tired and worn out but before it will give you the time to adjust for jet lag and get rested up before the hunt…

We went to Victoria falls from the Caprivi, left in the morning and were back mid afternoon. It is definitely worth seeing, but not sure how you would make it a three day affair.

I would suggest 3 days max.

Are you planning to go to the Zim or Zam side? Probably depends on where you are hunting. BTW, I did a buff hunt in May and it was very challenging due to the leaves still on the trees. Later is better.

The water level changes on the Falls. I think peak rate is March or April and you will get wet. Late May and June are still low rates on hotels. I went there in early September and very little water was going over the falls.

The dinner train ride was fun and interesting.

Me snd my wife and another couple spent a few days there in September last year and really enjoyed it. We did a guided tour of the falls on the Zim side, which was great. The wives did high tea at the Vic Falls hotel and they had a good time with that. Me and my buddy did a morning of fishing on the river and caught a few fish and had fun. We did a private sunset dinner cruise on the river and that was probably the highlight of our time there. We also spent an afternoon shopping/haggling in a market for souvenirs and brought back some nice stuff. When I go back I will do a helicopter tour of the falls. Of course there is some activities for the more adventurous sorts like bungee jumping and whitewater rafting if that’s more your speed.

I really enjoyed lunch on the patio of the Victoria Hotel! Great view of the mist coming off the falls.

I would suggest both sides of the falls. A overnight trip to Chobe in Botswana, so you can see the elephants in the evening cross the river. Helicopter of the falls.

So..,did the same thing last year. Don’t understand the there and back same day comment lol

Spend at least two to three full days
I highly recommend staying at the Vic Falls hotel
Lots of activities.
1) something incredibly simple…walk the trails at the falls and spend some time. Pack a few drinks and some food to spend more time there to enjoy the beauty
2) take one of the Sunset cruises on the river…it’s great and you will enjoy immenssly
3) fun places to eat like the Overlook on the Gorge…the Boma for dinner etx. Dinner or lunch on the veranda at Vic Falls hotel
4) helicopters…elephant rides…walk with white lions… lots of activities
5) Shopping
6) rafting and all sorts of stuff to do…

I enjoyed it immensely… incredible place

Visit to falls. (one mile walk)
Visit to Victoria falls hotel. Wherever you stay, have a dinner at hotel. It is special place.
When we had a dinner there, a local group was performing a tribal dance at restaurant.

Then, consider other activities, renting a chopper for sightseeing, going on rafting, crossing the bridge to Zambia. On Zambia side, you can have a swim in the river. Visit to Chobe national park, Botswana.

Photo below, I took with strong zoom on my camera from Zim side.
Swimmers at Zambia side.
