Voere rifles?

Gents,

Can you educate me on Voere bolt guns? Have found some info online, but not a ton. Mostly just that they're Austrian, or were at one time. Looking at at 2150 HDF. Curious about quality.

Voere mausers are good either based off k98 ones like your model .

The other 98 model the 2165 was based off a Spanish Santa Barbara action ,

From what I can tell the one I'm looking at doesnt have an extractor claw... so is it loosely based on a 98?

Quality itself is pretty good for that price range.

I’ve used a couple of Voere rifles in Europe, Denmark specifically. These were based on the Mauser 98 action with a couple of refinements. The triggers were upgraded, Timney or similar. The 3 position flag safety had been swopped out for side safeties. The bolts had been slicked up a bit. They had been rebarreled to 243 and 30-06. The 243 took a fox one morning at some 240 yards.
I admit to some favourable bias as I am a Mauser 98 fan.

What are the main differences from a 98 action?

I actually really like the look of their stocks... kind of like the more modern Steyrs... though the wrist being so narrow does make me a little nervous.

I’ve got a plain jane Voere .30-06, probably a 2155. It had the traditional Mauser bolt safety and about a 9 lb trigger, but once I replaced the trigger and installed a Buehler safety it became very functional. I believe mine was a very early Austrian model and is pure 98 Mauser. A tidbit of information: when I had it threaded, the machinist said the barrel steel was some of the hardest he’d ever worked with.

From what I've gathered online, 2155s from the 60s were often built on whatever 98 actions they could get their hands on. But in the 70s, the 2155 HDF was built without a Mauser claw/CRF. But differences between the models in hard to find, at least in English.

Voere also made the Titan series of rifle in the 1970's / 1980's.

They were push-feed rifles with a distinctive slim-line shroud, available in all typical calibers (e.g. 30-06), all the way to at least .375 H&H. I owned one of these in .375 H&H in the late 1980's and quality & fit were good, finish was above par, and accuracy was very good.

Actually, quality was good enough that KDF out of Seguin, TX had their KDF rifles manufactured by Voere. For a while they were quite popular, and generally featured the muzzle break that made the KDF name, although they could be had without it. To the best of what I saw at the time, these were integraly the Voere rifles, simply stamped KDF.

Voere was absorbed by Mauser-Werke in 1987.

Unless I am confused (?), clockwork_7mm_gator, the 2150 HDF was part of the Titan line, therefore it is NOT based on a 98 action. I would have zero qualm whatsoever about buying a used one. Assuming the rifle is in good condition, you will end up with an above average rifle, especially when it comes to barrel quality. They maintain a solid reputation in the European Alps.

The 2155s I'm seeing from the 70s have this stock/shroud design. It's distinctive for sure.
