Want To Buy Baikal Double SxS In 45-70 Govt

Did you find a particular load or certain weight bullet grouped best?
Its been several years and I don't have shot records for that gun. I do remember concentrating on 400 gr bullets and using the usual suspect range of powders. IIRC it liked 3031 and Varget pretty well.

Thank you.

Yes I know, but I was just “expanding” his horizons. But, aren’t there doubles with rimless cases? I’ve only seen videos of doubles in action in Africa, and they look very fast and accurate. I would love to own one, but compared to a good bolt action, they aren’t reasonably priced. How come Ruger, Remington, Winchester, etc., don’t, won’t, can’t make double rifles for North American hunting or other Continents hunting? They make over/under and side by side shotguns? Double .30-06, .303 or .300 WM or H& H anyone? Why is African hunting different for “doubles” vs. anywhere else? Just a thought and question for someone who hasn’t hunted in Africa YET and is stuck here hunting in Colorado with my poor Browning bolt action. The shame of it!
In a nutshell it's not profitable for an American company to mass produce one. There is A LOT of work in one, so it's going to be expensive. That makes for a small market. Aside from the Baikal mentioned here the Sabatti and Pedersoli doubles would be the cheapest around and I'll let more knowledgeable people explain their problems with this thread. https://www.africahunting.com/index.php?threads/48801/

A LOT of skilled hand work.(y)

Bought a Browning 1885 High Wall in 45-70 instead.
That one shoots like a dream and could be loaded to big game standards.:)

Hello there. I’ve been wanting to introduce myself personally & chat with you about hunting Nilgai. Give me a call sometime…

+1 Great to deal with. I purchased custom rifle. No issues.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary

Booked with Harold Grinde - Gana River - they sure kill some good ones - who'd you get set up with?
