I'm looking for a set of low scope rings for a Ruger No.1

Best regards,

Are these different from M77 rings?
Yes and no. M77 rings can be mounted on a No.1, but the height of the front and rear rings are different; both rings on a No.1 are the same height. If you had 2 sets of M77 rings you could make 2 sets of No.1 rings, one low, and one medium height.

Best regards.

In that case, No, I don't have a set of rings that would work on a No.1

Alaska Arms QD Rings for Ruger: I've used them myself on my No 1 in 416 Rigby. They are rock solid and 100% repeatable zero @ 100 yards time after time.

I was just thinking someone might have upgraded, and be willing to sell the old one for a discount. No harm in asking and save a couple of bucks for components.

$165 retail how much of a "discount" were you looking for on the best rings I've ever used?

I believe that the low rings are #3s. The 4s are medium which for any scope with an objective bell work much better as you can mount the scope a bit more to the rear for proper eye relief.

@Joker12 You are correct, However I don't have any #3's be am pretty sure I have 4's and 5's. So these might be an option for him.

I like the #4s on my rifles. I've got #3s on a #1S 338WM with a Leupold 2x7 and have to position the scope far enough forward that I have to crawl the stock a bit more than I like.

Good morning AZDave,

Thanks for replying and I appreciate your offer, but because I'll be mounting a 1.5-5 x 20, I want to go with the low #3 rings.

Best regards,

I have a pair of blued Ruger 1inch rings that are the same height, .320 ? I can not find a number on them like some I have seen. PM me if these are what you are looking for.

I have a set from a M77. From the base to the top of the lower base one measures .7", the other .8". I suspect these would be "mediums. But it may be that the .7" is low enough for you so that all you need to do is get another .7" for your rifle. If you want one, or both, just PM me.

Good morning Dartdart,

I just sent a P.M.

Best regards,

Having built many custom #1s I'd point out that you probably don't want simply "Low" rings, you want "Low Offset" rings. They come Stainless, Matte, and Gloss. I believe they still come 1" or 30mm.

Two ways to get them:

1.) Pay Ruger.

2.) Ship an unused set of Ruger rings to Ruger with a letter and they will swap an unused set of Ruger #1 rings for any other size free of charge. Calling first, you can verify they have inventory of the one you need. I've never NOT needed an offset ring for a #1...you just need as much way as possible to get the optics closer to the eye as that is the biggest problem with #1s...not enough eye relief, can't get the scope back far enough.

Thanks Rookhawk,

Unfortunately I believe that Ruger only has the Medium extended rings, not low. I think I'll be OK with the standard rings, because the Leupold has pretty decent eye relief. If not enough E.R. I may have to opt for the med extended.

I do have a set of Leupold extended rings on my No.1-V in .223.

Best regards,

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
