Interesting if you really own a drilling in this caliber configuration, but since we don't know which continent you are from, it's difficult to answer. Drillings of this caliber are not uncommon to find in Germany, but factory loads are nowadays very rare and so also are the components and above all the reloading dies. In addition, it is not, what you surely know, the classic caliber 9,3mm/.366 but a caliber 9,3mm/.364, which makes the choice of bullets even more difficult. You also never know in what condition the old drillings are, let alone if they are NC proofed. One have for this reason to be very careful with the NC loads. As far as hunting is concerned, this cartridge is, due to its marginal performance and the design of the bullets suitable for it, only allowed in my country for hunting roe deer's. With experience in reloading and a good knowledge of this cartridge and especially the rifle for it, one can get a little more performance out of, but one have to be extremely careful. Good luck finding reloading dies for the cartridge 9,3x72R on the continent where you are.

I'm in the USA it is what I say and have rounds for it. The rifle come from a collector of driĺings and also shooter of them. The round ballistic is comparable to our 35 remington which is an excellent whitetail black bear and hog round which is what I plan to use it for. Barrel measures between .365 and .366 I plan on loading a lead buĺet at around 1800 for which will be fine for 100 yard hunting there are several manufacturers here that mold that size and plan on getting a set of molds also. I'm not looking to hot rod the round as I have magnums if I need that kind of power but I enjoy hunting with old antique weapons. Took a deer this year with a 120 year old rifle already in 38-55. I'm currently in the woods with a 70 year old bolt rifle now. Our deer regs state any calibers non rimfire 22 cal and above with expanding bullets are ok for whitetail. I can get s&b 193 gr soft point here but there expensive and I love to reload so that's why I'm looking for dies and other components. I also have 80 cases for it so I'm getting closer to loading the old girl. Thanks for the intel.

Keep looking for dies. CH4D may have them in stock. Their dies are excellent.

The 9.3x72R is somewhat uncommon in the US though many pre-war drillings and kipplaufs are chambered in this caliber. I have a kipplauf and a drilling in 9.3x72 and a friend hunts deer with his 9.3x72R double rifle.

The ballistics are approximately 193 gr bullet at 2000 fps which is in the 38/55 HV class.

Provided your drilling was made when the 9.3x72r was normalized, you can shoot S&B loaded ammo and keep your brass. I say that because there are 4 slightly different 9.3x72 cases with the normalized case being close to the English case. The German case (D) has a slightly smaller head.

The only 9.x dies that I saw that Midway has are for 9.3x62. If you could post the link to the 9.3x72 dies, that would be great.

The cartridge 9,3x72R has nothing in common with the cartridge 9,3x72R, not even the caliber. It was a BP cartridge that still requires low NC loads. The cartridge 9,3x72R is in Germany only approved for roe deer hunting, but can do a bit more, however far from the power of a cartridge 9,3x74R.

Suggest you call CH4D. They may have the dies in stock and if not, get your name on their backorder list.

Here you go.

These look to be in stock.

I have ordered from Grauwolf many times. I also live in Germany. I am not interested in ordering them and shipping them to you. I have burned too many times for things like this.

If you are looking for a cheaper option, you need to keep an eye out on the German auction sites. www.egun.de.

https://www.egun.de/market/list_items.php?mode=cat&cat=238. this is the sub section for dies. They are called matrizen. You will need to build an account. Make sure the company ships world wide.

Below is an auction for a set of 7x65 Dies that are available to ship world wide.

From below. We know these dies are new, and they offer international shipping.

Zustand der Ware: Neuwertig Zahlung: Barzahlung, PayPal, Vorkasse, Überweisung Versand: Käufer trägt Versandspesen, Internationaler Versand (international shipping) Versandkosten: 7,00 EUR (Inland)

Someone said they had some this morning with a list of other strange dies I cannot find the page though right now

Cheap rifle, with expensive ammo. I can buy those drilling like this for $200-400 any day.

They are challenging as the 9.3x72R is not legal for anything other than roe deer here. It is not legal for red deer, wild boar, mouflon, chamois, fallow or sika in Germany or Austria.

Ammo is bloody challenging.

Seller and Bellot makes a 9.3x72R load. Not sure if someone imports it to America or not. You could search ammoseek.com and take a look.

Bullets are .263 not .264. Which will increase pressures enough to blow that old drilling in half over time. So I'd have some hard cast.
