Good day AH community,
We trust you are all doing great and have enjoyed your 2022 seasons! I know that we are thoroughly excited to get going again with our 2023 season and start hearing some accents out in the bush again! We once again have some prime openings at our home base during the rut on offer for anyone interested in checking a big pig and Kudu off their list whilst also experiencing some of the finest plains game hunting in SA. These openings however will not last long! This is great news for everyone out there looking to experience the Kudu and Warthog rut at an incredible venue as we have undoubtedly some of the best warthog hunting in South Africa. This is as a direct result of our home base's location.
We border one of the largest privately owned national parks in the whole of South Africa (75,000ha). Unfortunately for them they are mismanaging the park and have an absolutely mind-numbing number of elephants present on the park. Due to this factor the amount of grazing and food available to the rest of the game is relatively poor. Thus all hungry warthogs in the park look to us for greener pastures. We have not had to supplement the feed on our home base since 2015. The grazing is truly fantastic and our pig numbers have of course exploded due to the abundant feed and careful management.
That being said the Warthog rut runs from the end of April through to July and it is in this period that it is absolutely reasonable to expect to see anywhere from 250 to 550 Warthogs per day per blind session. This also luckily coincides with the Kudu rut! What a match made in heaven! Normal expected size on the Kudu is 50 inches and up and some days up to 8 shooters have been seen in a single day. The hunting area is 5000ha/12,000 acres in size and accommodation is a luxury Hemingway styled tented camp or our honeymoon suite. You would land at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg where we would personally collect you and from there it is a relatively painless and 3 and a quarter hours drive towards Limpopo and the Botswana border.
For this specific hunt, please inquire with us about available dates. Prime time is between the end of April through to the beginning of July.
