We have a den that we hike into just north of Oracle, if you can stand to wear even a long sleeve shirt outside the rattlers will be out of the den. Not very far but they will be out. There have only been a few years that we have hiked into it where there was no sign of them. One year it looked like it had been abandoned only to hike into it the next year and find them again.Not sure who killed it. Ran it over perhaps? Next to a dirt 2 track. A little cold for snakes to be out.

This is what I had to face this morning when I left the house. I think that translates to -25 or -26 in Fahrenheit. With the windchill it felt like -45!
