Well boys, what's your temperature like now?

94 with 100% humidity.

We get nosebleeds when the humidity drops below 70%.

Imagine when you leave your house in the morning and a troll on your roof throws a hot wet blanket on you that you have to wear all day.

Every 15 minutes the blanket is drenched with more hot water.

That's brutal. I couldn't handle that.

Only a fool rushes out into a hail storm....lol My entire upper body got shot peened by marble sized hail.

Drove down to the shopping center. The neighborhoods are wrecked. One of the worst monsoon storms I've ever been in.

Seems summer arrived while I was away....14 or so days ago was around 18c to 22c in day and even colder at night...and summer should only be kicking in slowly....up to November before rains start going to be interesting.....

We had ping pong sized hail on August 5th, which damaged my roof and busted a skylight and damaged a vehicle. Kind of late for that sized hail here. Anyway, we're getting more hail right now but nothing large. REALLY LATE for any hail of any size this late in August. Gotta love Colocalifornicate! LOL

Similar story here about 2 months ago…

Hail damage to all three vehicles(about $18k in damage between the 3 vehicles)… and $49k in damage to the house…

New roof, new fence, new siding, new screens on 12 windows, repairs to chimney, and the entire house repainted as a result of the storm…

1 vehicle had front windshield smashed.. another had the front windshield cracked… all three had hail strikes on literally every panel on the vehicle.. many strikes so deep on one of them the PDR wouldn’t work and panels had to be replaced…

Thankfully I’ve got the best general contractor in north Dallas on speed dial… the guy does excellent work, with very fair pricing, and is reliable… if anyone in the DFW metroplex ever needs someone to do home repairs.. he’ll do anything from repainting your house to replacing your roof to replacing your HVAC and everything in between… and is HONEST (sadly, not a common trait among residential construction types in my experience)… I’d be happy to share his contact info..

We ONLY had $28K in damage this time compared to July 27th 2016 when we had almost tennis ball sized hail and some $42K in damages. This time around, we can't get our roof replaced until November 2nd due to the volume of claims and probably a lack of roofers? Just in time for the snow! LOL

I need a new roof on my home and have been hopping for some of that hail, but all we usually manage is pea size. I thought about getting up on my roof with a ball-peen hammer and going to work on it but I am sure that I would wake up my neighbor as I started to place divots into the shingles.

Getting afternoon rainstorms which is kind of normal for us for late August but the crazy shifting winds make archery elk hunting a real problem!

Its about 35F right now, supposed to be in the teens next couple of mornings. Saw a little bit of snow today while at the range.

My understanding is it's an El Nino year? If so, it is consistent. While some of you are getting simply pounded down yonder, we are watching our snow cover being eaten away by warmer than normal temperatures. Here today, it's pushing 40, with a hard rain and a lot of wind. Ugh.

My next door neighbor is from Leoti, Kansas about three hours east of here. We got a little snow from the last storm but they got 18" and showed me some photos. He told me they haven't had snow like that since he was living there 16 years ago. I'm glad it was them and not us this time. LOL

It minus 34 celius here now will minus 40 tonight first cold weather this year, not much snow. The Farmers are going to be hurting this year. And the wildfires will be bad if we don’t get any moisture.

Hello Doug,
I am Philippe from France and plan to go hunting Caprivi in 2026, Oct.
I have read on AH you had some time in Vic Falls after hunting. May I ask you with whom you have planned / organized the Chobe NP tour and the different visits. (with my GF we will have 4 days and 3 nights there)
Thank in advance, I will appreciate your response.
Merci
Philippe
