The geese might be getting impatient to get back, but us snowbirds are in no hurry!Still in the deep freeze here. The "starvation moon". More than a meter of snow is still covering everything and lots of big drifts. It's been a very hard winter on our deer. Today we might see the start of our first little thaw since November, +4°C daytime highs for a couple days. I expect like us, the geese down south might be getting impatient!
Time for those crappies!Well Bro ... I'd send some of this nice weather your way if I could.
The first of the month I'm heading up to Lake Roosevelt for 4 days, and my 60th b-day. A couple weeks of nice weather before then, and the fishing should be on fire.(Hopefully)
Stop on by for a beer and a cigar. I'll have plenty of both.Time for those crappies!
If I take ride by there, I will wave.

@sgt zimwe want to retire up this way, not necessarily CO. Went to Cheyenne today. That would be very cool with me, not sure my wife could deal with it. Will also be looking at Rapid City, Pocatello, and maybe Evanston, WY.
She wants trees, so SE WY will probably be a non-starter.
Yeah, well don't get used to it! You'll be getting the storm that'll hit us Wednesday night/Thursday. Then you can put on your 100% Merino wool Westley Richards shooting socks and shovel your driveway! Ha! Ha! Ha!5in. of snow a few days ago well its 75 today here in Kansas.
Every time I've been to Jeffrey City Wyo, I've thought to myself- perfect place... little ranchette down on the Sweetwater! My reasoning and tell me if I'm wrong, I guarantee, every Commifornia tourist driving by there won't even slow down!!!- perfect Even some of that area between Rawlins and Muddy Gap Junction has appeal to me- don't know why but maybe the same reason.we want to retire up this way, not necessarily CO. Finally, elk on the way out. 4 bulls, 1 with horns dropped already, and 2 cows. And me having never hunted elk, I would absolutely not pass up this 6x6.See any elk?
