I’ve had a couple safaries to Africa but with a stroke a heart attack cancer back again and a new hip in the works it’s just great to look forward to any kind of hunting at 75. My life has been good with lots of dreams fulfilled. I hope all of your dreams come to fruition

Those are really my thoughts too. I was lucky enough to achieve my ultimate bucket list hunt. My focus now is seeing new areas. I just want to have good hunts in new areas. The species aren’t so important, but I really hope I never get tired of hunting eland or roe deer.

Yup, I can relate. Last 10 years saw a ruptured quad tendon, heart attack, shoulder work, bladder and kidney cancers. Shit happens, but I believe we just have to hump through it as much as possible. Good luck with the hip. My bud had a new hip in '23, then shot his hippo and croc in '24.

I told my wife now is the time to complete my list as to not having any regrets before I’m unable to do so.

I want to hunt all possible continents. Two left, we leave for Argentina February 19th with my wife after beating down cancer twice. She was diagnosed the first time two days before we were to go to Argentina. That planned trip actually helped her get diagnosed sooner due to us being unwilling to leave until we figured out why she was feeling poorly.

Last continent Asia will be completed next year when I head to Tajikistan for Marco Polo .

I have completely the dangerous 7 but would like to hunt a wild lion soon .

Polar Bear but it just too bleeping cold !

Bucket list for Africa - Leopard, croc and hippo to finish the dangerous 7. Lord Derby Eland, Bongo (have Bongo hunt this year) and if I win the lottery the mountain nyala. Really big elephant, 80+ pounder.

For North America - coastal brown bear and desert big horn sheep.

Also on bucket list is to hunt South America and Asia.

I have had the privilege to hunt my bucket list hunt. It was where I went with my Father on his Elephant hunt in Zim. Years have passed now, he has since then beaten cancer, I became a father, he a Grandfather, and knowing the privilege I had, I would love to do it again in both our new stages of lives with each of us doing a Buff bull in Zim.

Alaska dall sheep hunt (Brooks Range) in 174 days, 17 hours, and 45 minutes…but who is counting?

“Free range” about both birds and hunters. Many years of good conditions and numbers of birds. Large areas of western Kansas around Dodge City, Jetmore and Garden City to state line. After holidays when locals’ families had left and only requirement was asking permission and following wishes of landowner. Extremely rare to be denied permission. Some areas even had mixed bag of bobwhites, prairie chickens and ring necks. Huge acreages with ag stubble laced with untilled drainages full of mixed cover. Even some tilled ag and rolling original prairie edge areas. The antithesis of stocked (or unstocked) hunter mill farms or hunting co-ops as is common now nor organized, pre-arranged, company sponsored junkets on large corporate ag acreages. You would not know the difference if never experienced that lost time of the past.

I hunt wild pheasant and prairie grouse in SD every year. Not a stocked bird around. Over 100,000 acres of public land. Staying in a camper and cooking the days take for dinner. It’s out there if you go find it.

Bucket list for me is long. Cape buffalo is top. Was thinking the caprivi would be a good area for me. But we will see what’s out there when the time comes. Altai ibex in Mongolia is another for me.

And oddly enough a big whitetail buck. I have never shot anything bigger than a little basket rack 7 point. Growing up in Michigan there just wasn’t the management there is now so there just really wasn’t and bucks over like 2 1/2 years old. A lot of little forks and such shot back in those days. I’ll probably try to figure out a Texas whitetail hunt that’s decently affordable in the next couple of years

There are early fall polar bear hunts available before the ice sets in. It’s a warmer option to consider.

That does sound way better. I envisioned sitting in a trailer on skids behind a sled not being able to see much due to low profile and freezing my donkey off ! Guess further research would help .

I know guys that went last year the first week of August. Combo'd with walrus. Didn't look cold at all.
I doubt it gets much warmer than then.

I’ve got a strong pull to travel for bird hunting. Would love to hit both USA coasts for ducks especially the king eider but there are some others I would like to chase as well-never have shot a wild mountain quail for example.

My bucket list is still fairly long…

Africa - Sitatunga (doing this October), Bongo (doing in ‘26). After that the big ones are a Masailand hunt focused mainly on lesser kudu, then Ethiopia for Mtn. Nyala. Those 4 would give me all the spiral horns. Other than that, I’d really like one more good lion and another elephant bull or two. Beyond those, more buffalo hunts with my son. African birdshooting and fishing also.

North America - Bighorn (I’ve got 25 points in WY), another Desert Ram (got 27 AZ points & 25 NV points), want to try for my biggest elk ever, which will have to be around 390 or bigger (I’ve got 26 AZ points), then burn all my western points on mule deer, elk & pronghorns and I’ve got lots of points to cash in for all of them. Other than that I’d really like to hunt another Brown Bear on AK Peninsula and another big Alaska-Yukon moose. I might hunt Stone Sheep IF I get the bighorn as that’d complete my Grand Slam, but I’d probably not as I’d rather hunt elephants or lion for what a Stone Sheep costs now.

Europe, - roe deer & ibexes. Maybe a stag or brown bear

Asia - I’ve been interested in Kazakhstan for ibex, roe deer & Maral Stag. Would love to hunt sheep in Mongolia, any of them.

I’m 66, no plans to retire as I have no plans to stop hunting until my health or money gives out. Still have a lot of hunts to do.
