What do you expect in a african bush camp

Oh, one thing we do not have "no diamond dealers"!

Does the double negative mean you really have them.:sneaky:

I have heard of diamonds getting stuck in the wide treads of Courtney's and not being found until they got back home.:D

Sounds like your camp is going to be great!

Looks like you have all the bases covered I’m sure any one going to your camp will be pleased I know from what you have described I would be.
May your adventures all be safe ones and with many memories to be taken home.

Nothing better than the critters coming to visit close in to let you know where you are.

I love a camp where you can hear and see the wildlife around you. Thats part of the experience of being in Africa. Decent meals with enough quantity to keep a guy going. One important part is a good bed with the ability to sleep without bugs bothering you. A good nights sleep helps with the long days of hunting. Good water as has been mentioned for drinking. A hot shower helps the day start and/or end well.
Sounds like you have the basics covered.

Water was one of our biggest problems. First just to get someone to bring a drilling rig in. Finally got one, found great and plentiful water @ 108 meters. Paid the operator cash on the spot. They said they could do the complete installation if I could pay them upfront MISTAKE!

No Diamonds!!!!

Lots of people have commented on bugs. Mosquito nets are absolutely necessary, year round. I have stayed in tents in Ethiopia without nets - too cold for flying insects, they said. But not too cold for mice to climb into bed with me while I am sleeping, and wake me up as they play in my hair (what little I have). I’ve stayed in thatched huts without nets. Again, too cold for bugs they said. But not too cold for bats to fly around me all night. Had the bats even in nice lodges. Mosquito nets keep all sorts of things which might disrupt a good nights’ sleep out.

If the borehole is deep enough, then the water is fine. Otherwise, bottled, please.

Staff who care. Tough to find but worth their weight in gold.

Your 100% right on the nets.

The bore hole is 108 meters deep, bottle water is available, but I would trust the bore hole water over a bottled water filled by people I dont know in plants I have not seen.

My wife finally sent me the first pictures of the camp now I have to figure out how to move them to this web site!

Gee Lon, you’re up early! If you have the pictures, I’d love to see them at lunch!

I’ll look for another place.
