What else is in your trophy room?

An old black duck cork decoy my dad found on the Shenandoah River in Virginia back in the 50’s, various rocks and other nik-naks picked up around on my hunts. Most of my waterfowl mount stands were built by my dad so they mean a lot. An old table built in the early 1800’s that came out of my dads old home in Virginia.

Here’s a picture of the old black duck decoy

I don’t have a trophy room, as much as, I just put them all over the house. I do have a personal man cave where I go to decompress, get away, reload and smith. I do keep a wall of tin type photos, brass, recovered bullets and arrows from hunts and fishing trips.

Photo on canvas of an elephant taken by my wife at Nehimba Camp in Hwange. 3 x 5 or so. If it looks like it was taken from 10-12 feet, it’s because IT WAS TAKEN FROM 10-12 FEET

The Travis letter. If you have to ask, it won’t mean anything to you. Hand painted by an artistic son in law to match the original.

Opening paragraph written by some obscure, wannabe romance author. Gifted by my daughter

Cool ass bar. Anyone in the Lake Houston area, stop in and we’ll throw one back

I was just in Houston, and missed your bar. Maybe next time.

My God, how many sets of dies do you have?? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Art, mostly signed prints (Frace'), but a couple originals, cased antique fishing lures, spears from southern Sudan--one certifiably used in battle to kill an opponent, books (mostly africana), new and old fishing reels, a binocular collection, mounted insects from Africa, other knick-knacks and souvenirs, metal antique Coca Cola ice chest, a number of better carved wooden animals from Africa, and a fishing rod rack behind the door as I look around me. Gun safe, of course. Loading supplies, and maintenance stores, and massive wooden chest of antique wood working tools are in the shop outside.

With my background and interests, our trophy room/guest house/gentlemen's bar is bit of a cross between military and art museum, library, and natural history museum.

Some of my non hunting trophy interests.

French Napoleonic and Islamic arms and armor - the clock is English and dates to 1854. Engraved in French on the small sword to the left of the cuirass is "Draw me not without reason, sheath me not without honor."

Antique furniture - Louis XVI, French Empire, and French renaissance revival. The porcelain coffee and tea service is an animal service created following Napoleon's invasion of Egypt in 1798.

Love the leopard pose! And how wide is the buff?

The one on the pedestal is just over 42 and the one above the travel poster is right at 40.

I also have a trophy house, mounts mixed with african art and some of my wife´s paintings.

I'll take Trophy House for >$100K over a lifetime, Alex. Some among us have entire Trophy buildings a close jaunt from the house, and virtually unknown catacombs containing vintage libations!!! (I'm transitioning from the house to separate building as a move is on the horizon...) And, I'd like to feature some of the Great Khans in artwork, among newer Native American and African stuff below the animals.

I think the correct answer to that question is always...

"one too few"....

:)

Do you know the Williamson's from Hunt/Ingram? You have a lot in common, sporting-wise, militarily, and interior decor as well! Yours gets an additional star.

Who is the artist of the drumming grouse?
Bruce K. Lawes from eastern Ontario. My late wife won it in a Ducks Unlimited sealed bid auction many years ago. She never would tell me what she paid. It was my Christmas present. Local DU chapter puts nothing but crap up for auction now: fake heavy metal band gold records, hockey posters, etc. Blech! Can't remember when I last saw a print for bid that was wildlife. For years we thought a real feather was in the matte inset. Turns out it's actually a painted carving!

Can't say that I have heard of them.

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
