Yea with a muzzle and chain on the bear no less. That animal could still pounce the life out of the guy if he wanted to do so. Where did you come across this Tom?

That's a good sized black bear. I wonder what the weight of that animal is.

I remember as a kid going to the Sportsman Show in Harrisburg and people from the audience could pay to wrestle a bear.

When I was a kid my grandfather wrestled a black bear like that at our local fair. I barely remember it I was that young. Pap was not a big man 5'9" 220 but was tough as nails 82nd air borne/ armey ranger in early 50's.
Pap was told he could not punch or kick the bear which was a little over 300#.
When they started the match they pushed and shoved each other around for a while then pap got it into a bear hug I remember the bear was making a crying sound when he would squeeze finally the bear had enough and it swatted him on the side of the head with its paw (it was declawed) pap said he had never been hit so hard 3 of his fillings fell out of his teeth.
When they came back together the bear hit him again in the head pap figured if the bear could punch he could too he hit it twice in the face and it went to hide behind handeler who disqualified my grandfather for punching the bear.
That was in mid 1970s my grandfather would have been in mid to upper 40's imagine what would happen if that attraction was around today.
He did say he would never try that again.
