In spirit of which cartridge do you wish to bring back , I would take another twist on it .

And in this example I’m thinking about the big bore combo gun type , at an affordable level so there is more options around to be tried .

Like .500-12 Ga sbs combo , the 12 bore is 3 inch or similar , also made with Brenneke or Paradox as an option .

Lead free option also since the future is bleak for that kind of lead ammo

.400 3 inch also as a option. .470 and similar also

Like these ones but on a modern option

I know there are some büchsflinte options out there , but not so much around as one would liked

And if one were to interest a large maker like Marocchi to make .400 3 inch set for the 512,612 actions as both combo and rifle , one would be looking to an interesting jungle gun .

As there were several options before , one can think back to the bpe era , even Husqvarna made them in Belgium in many price levels , but they fell off sadly .

Heym actually offered a double rifle drilling not so long ago in .470/12 gauge...the 12 gauge barrel could be handy for mambas and the odd cobra..

Paradox is mentioned..a friend has a Westley Richards Explora in 12G.. He had a mold made and he makes 730 grain hollow point lead bullets.. He loads for it and it is most accurate at least to 50 metres..

It is in like new condition, sold by a dealer in Rangoon.. The recoil is quite soft..should be good for wild fowl, boar, asian bear and tiger..

Winchester Model 12, without the trigger disconnector. The Perfect Repeater.

The Heckler & Kock 940 ! Probably the best semi-automatic hunting rifle that I have had the opportunity to handle.
I also regret the disapearance of the triple rifle made by Mathelon. Nonetheless, I think this system is still produced by some German or Austrian gunmakers but at much higher price.

This. Exactly this.
A Mannlicher Schoenauer, with removable rotary magazine and forward mounted red dot sight in .458Lott. That would be a DG machine. (Just read Ndlovu)

Hammer double rifles in big bore cartridges should make a come back too. Just do classy pulling those ears back on your double rifles.

Heeren falling block please

Mannlicher Schoenauers with the original rotary magazine, Per.

Hands down ! They haven’t been produced since 1972.

If you come across a Kongsberg Lakelander or Swedish Varberger , they have type of magazine , not much sought after now so prices are fair . But exellent made they were .

I have seen a Steyr m72 , it was a very fine rifle with lot of miles it had gone .

Best I can do for you there is a .458 WinMag. But there were so few of them made.

But I love that rotary mag.

Do you think a 458 Lott case would fit in there? Or the magazine is too specific size wise?

Thomas Miedler is now producing them again. You can also order a new one built on an old action from Daniel Fraser.

I have recently handled a new one. It was very impressive.

There are at least 6 or 7 people making Heeren falling blocks.

Furtschegger in downtown Innsbruck does them, Dorleac in France and quite a few others. Email this school house in Ferlach and ask one of the senior teachers if they know who is making them. The museum in Ferlach might also know.

They are beloved in Switzerland more than they are in Austria.

There were 5-10 of those on Egun every day for a long time. I have not seen one in over a year.

Here are 3 on VDB.

@Muskox, I thought Hartmann & Weiss and Dorleac and Dorleac used older actions. Hartmann & Weiss has reportedly manufactured them, but their website is down. On the Dorleac and Dorleac webpage they indicate they use heeren actions "originally made by Nagel and Menz, Stefan Heym or Outschar..." I believe Nagel & Menz were working in the 1880s, Stefan Heym in the early 1900s - followed by Kerner until 1945.
Also made post-war by Omega for Glaser in Switzerland and Outschar in Ferlach into the 1970s. The webpage for Christian Furtschegger - waffen insicates they are making them and on another webpage references them as the 'Fallblockbuchse Furtschegger - Kufstein System Heeren.'
Thanks for the direction, there is hope!
