There’s no way these trucks made it to Laramie without one of you “enthusiasts” being involved!

:D
Oh, they probably packed the rocket launchers and machine guns in the front for transport. I assume it’s illegal to import those as well.

White is popular in Australia contrary to the reporters commentary.

Actually Landcruisers are quite popular here as an agricultural vehicle.

Production of those did occur a few years ago.

Australia follow the rest of the world for emission controls etc and can only buy what is available.

In about 22/23 Toyota changed the vehicle specs rating them on a different category with minor upgrades to avoid major changes to meet Australian Design rules applied to light vehicles.

Kinda stuffed a good thing. They also stopped the V8 Diesel version and added a 4cylinder diesel coupled to an automatic transmission as the only option. It drove up pricing on secondhand cruisers.

I wanted one before the changes but I’m not so sure on the new ones. They don’t have the same appeal.

We don’t fit machine guns to them here. Those Factory Ute bodies are less common in Australia but can be found. Most are fitted with a fabricated flat tray and drop sides.

At work we have 1 V8 manual and 3 of the 4cyl autos. Towing 3.5t daily the 4cyl kill the V8 manual.

Yes, I have seen a drag comparison online of the auto vs manual.

I have always owned manuals myself. Not a cruiser but I had several as work vehicles from the 6 cylinder, 6 cylinder turbo and the V8 and drove others in the fleet.

Not saying it’s the best but I would have liked one.

@CBH Australia
Chris they now have a V6 diesel that is supposed to produce more power and torque than the V8 version.
Toyota is still a POS tho. Hell even the unbreakable Hilux breaks now, bits fall off them like shock absorbers.

An Australian bagging on Toyota? I thought I was the only one :E Dancing:

Seriously though - they’re so expensive for what you get.

@Certus

It only pretends to be

Hehe, I had a GQ Safari with the TD42. My lord it was slow and heavy, we named it Sherman. Solid though!
I just have X Trails. They do enough for me off road (I don’t do true off road stuff) and they’re good in town and for long drives. :)

The old GQ were built like a brick shit house and that TD42 was bomb proof. The axles are more like truck axles.
I have a 1997 Nissan Terrano R20 with a TD27, turboed and intercooled. Cut 2 cylinders off the 42 and you have the 27. Another bomb proof motor. I met someone that had 1,000,000 km on his then retired it but still drives it daily on the farm.
Mine gets used as a town car, lots of towing for our caravan ( last year 17,000km in three months) and a lot of off road work. It don't get babied. 370,000 km of hard yards so far and going strong. Apart from regular maintenance all I have replace is one starter motor, one alternator and an intercooler. Hell even the exhaust is still the original stainless steel one
She's old but not slow and goes anywhere I want and places the wife closes her eyes for.
What more can a man want in a 4x4.
It's a bit like my wife. Honest, reliable, faithful and will go the hard yards with me. Dang if'n it made love and coffee I might consider marrying it to.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
