This is the second Whitworth I've seen this week with soldered on sights. The other being a 458.
I believe this was the way the early examples were sighted. Very nice detail.

I was very tempted to keep this one......but I have a few other .375's in the stable.
Not sure of the production date, but the fellow who ordered it waited about a year to finally get it.
I recall him thinking he ordered this one 25-30 years ago.

Very nice rifle. I have two of these, and they're great shooters.

If you want to know the production date, you will find a four digit code on the right rear of the action, just in front of the bolt handle (I've highlighted the area in the pic below). This will tell you the month and year of manufacture (MMYY format). You might need to remove the action from the stock to fully see it, but not normally.

GLWS!

I bought a Whitworth in 375 a few months ago and I have been very impressed with it. They are a great value in my opinion. Nice rifle here. GLWS.

If you were going to Keep a Whitworth , THIS would be the one you should keep. We own two and my wife's is almost this ones twin. I have never shot a 375 Interarms that wasn't a shooter. ( I have shot 12 different ones)

I have one like this with similar markings and lettering including the "Castle" on the barrel, the date code on mine is 1175 (November 1975).

Both of mine were made in 1985 and have serial numbers around B 280xxx; which makes me think this one was probably made in the early 1980's.

**PHOTOS ADDED**
I removed the action from the stock to reveal additional markings.
The date code on this one is "1175" so looks like it will qualify for C&R shipping in January so I was obviously way off on when I thought this was made.

This rifle looks to be truly unfired since leaving the factory......someone here needs this!!

That's good info, and probably an ideal age for an Interarms Whitworth Express. Almost old enough to qualify for C&R shipping, but still new enough to have a factory adjustable trigger (which started sometime after 1972) and the safety slides more smoothly than the prior version.

I will be on the road for the holiday......if you are a serious buyer and would like to contact me during the next few days please message me with your email address and/or phone number and I will respond as soon as I can.

Thanks!

I sold my place in Dixie, ID so I now have some money. Is it still available? Used to have a place down by Lemhi on the Salmon.

Just getting back in town and yes, the gun is still available. I sent you a PM with my direct contact information.

Going to give this one a longer on this site then moving on.....don't miss out on this one.
Doubtful you will find one from 1975 in better condition!!

Got the PM, I will take it.

That's a wrap, on our first hunt of this years season.

Hunting conditions are a bit tougher in South Africa during the month of February, but can be just as rewarding if done right.
