Why no love for the .358 Win?

They were selling 9.3x62 barrels for the Garand up here in Ontario. Not a light and limber package maybe, should be able to put the hurt on, though.

Speak of the...

My grate nephew in law told me tonight he picked up a nice 98 in 9x57.
And he is thinking of re barrel it to a 358w
I told him I would see about shooting it like it was before I would redo it
But it would be a nice woods rifle especially with a 18 in barrel or so

Outstanding group! Sounds like the 358 likes to shoot most 225 class bullets to similar points of impact given everything else stays the same. Good to know! I’ve read alot of good things about the woodleighs and the north forks but haven’t been able to locate any here in the states. I’m sure those loads will bring the hunt together for rick when he goes to Nimibia. I can only dream to have an African hunt under my belt someday.

What state are you in.
Stop dreaming and start saving and you will be in Africa before you know it..
There's a new Woodleigh dealer in the states.
Ricks lucky I'm visiting him in October and taking him 2 boxes of Woodleigh to have some fun with.

Bob, I’m in Oregon. No idea how much it would cost but it would be amazing to go hunting there someday. Hopefully sooner than later. Rick is very lucky to have you as a friend.

It is cheaper to hunt Africa than you think.
There are many good deals from benefactors on this site.
If you don't want trophies you could always do a cull hunt that is a cheaper option then and a trophy or two if you need to.
It was cheaper for me to hunt Namibia than hunt buffalo in my home country of Australia. So Namibia was a no brainer for me and a decision I have NEVER regretted.
@Rick HOlbert is a great bloke the same as a lot of people in this site.

I will have to look into this! A cull hunt sounds like a great place to start. Thank you Bob.

I am definitely enjoying being a part of this site. I will continue to stick around.

Do yourself a favour. Don't wait until one day I will do it. By then one day will arrive and it will be to late. Start researching and go. No use dying with regrets. Life is for living I'm sure you will find a way to fullfill your dream.

Wise words Bob! You’re not kidding. I’ll look into it.
