Your 2025 Hunt Plans?

Did my first trip to Africa this year. Nest year the only thing on the agenda (besides my local whitetail hunting) is a trip to Maine in August for the first week of black bear season.
Would love to return to RSA in 2026, but... we shall see.

I think I’m taking the year off from hunting, other than here in Texas. I’ve missed too many good dove shoots and duck hunts galavanting all over the place. I’ll take in some bullfighting in Seville late spring and another trip to Scott Lake in NWT for lake trout, Northerns and grayling in late August. Could easily be talked into Patagonia fly fishing early in the year. I owe the better half a few trips.

Sheep Show in Reno in Jan. where I plan to win a desert hunt! lol.
AH group bird hunt at Rockin' G. and pigs in TX. and OK after that in Feb.
Alaska brown bear in May.
Oryx hunt, possibly 2, if I decide to include Scimitar horned later in the year, probably November.
Usual suspects of elk, deer and antelope here in Wyo. if I get motivated!
A good friend of mine, Kern Chew (now deceased), won the very first Sheep Show Desert Bighorn raffle hunt. The next year he only bought one raffle ticket since he won the previous year’s raffle yet still wanted to support the cause.

…he won it again! 2 years, 2 Desert Sheep raffle tags, 2 great rams. Kern finished his hunting career with 3+ Grand Slams. I think he shot something like 17-18 rams, as he really liked Stone Sheep and IIRC had 4 or 5 Stone Rams mounted.f

As for my 2025 hunting plans, Zimbabwe buffalo in May with Alan Vincent. Then in October a Sitatunga in Zambia with Johnny DuPlooy. And whatever the drawing Gods bestow on me in the annual western state Big Game drawings.

I’m rolling to West Texas in January to chase mule deer with Gizmo while my son chases ducks. Then hopefully the eastern turkeys cooperate in South Carolina (home) during March and April. Then heading to the eastern cape in pursuit of some tiny ten and hopefully a cape bush buck in June.

Romania for Red Stag in Sept
Arizona for Coues in Oct
ND for pheasant/Huns in Nov
Quail & Deer in Bama for the rest of the season.

Austria in August for mountain roe deer
Tanzania Masailand in September for buffalo and some limited plains game
They are both new destinations for me and very different hunts than I’ve done previously. I’m particularly looking forward to the mountain roe deer hunt.

Wild turkeys in SC starting in March.
Eastern Cape in June.
Whitetails in SC starting in August.
Doves in SC starting in September.
Probably try to do an out of state deer hunt in the fall, maybe Kentucky.
They pushed back turkey season this year. FYI….

Sounds like folks have a lot of good trips coming in ‘25. After hunting Africa annually for the last 4 years I’m planning to take a break in 2025 and do some other hunts.

Jan 6th start a Iowa muzzleloader whitetail hunt with my son, first trip to Iowa for deer hunting

In mid April taking my wife to Spain and doing a Roe deer hunt while there

Sept/Oct timeframe doing a goose and duck hunt with my son in Saskatchewan

Late October doing another hunt in Spain, this time for Pyrenean Chamois

Speak a lot of time during the fall chasing upland birds here in Montana and doing elk and deer around home

Thinking I may try to plan a hunt in Namibia for 2026

Mellow year for me I think.

January- Texas exotics (bison, aoudad, Catalina goats, hogs, fallow, nilgai are all on the list). It’s the annual guys trip to shoot stuff drink whiskey and smoke cigars.

May- Alaska black bear and fishing with a buddy.

Then we will see if I draw deer, elk, pronghorn or sheep here in AZ. Probably realistically only draw coues deer.

November- thanksgiving at my brothers place in Idaho and shoot a whitetail.

Through in some predator hunting here and there throughout the year I guess.

Early May: Botswana Kudu with NKWE

Late April/Mid May: Still looking for something interesting to hunt in either Namibia or Zimbabwe the week before or after Botswana. I reached out to one site sponsor a couple months ago and have yet to receive a response.

November: Iowa Whitetail bowhunt with my son

December: Mexico Sonora Desert Mule Deer

I see you boys have full schedule for next year. Many of you multiple safaris in next year, or other international hunts!

I have to ask question: how do you manage available spare time to get two times or more to Africa in a year!?

My work schedule which is hard to predict is biggest limiting factor!

As for my plans, buffalo done this year and removed from bucket list.
So if my fluid work schedule permits, maybe non export, non trophy, own use or tuskless elephant. Thats my rough plan!

Safari convention in Nashville
July: SA for Buffalo, Nyala, warthog, zebra
August: Dall sheep (1st time hunting sheep!)
Nov-Jan: Ducks/Geese in KS/MO

Back to the Eastern Cape in May, with KMG Safaris and a group of Aussies. This time I'll be targeting Lechwe, Reedbuck and Blue WB.

In October I'm off to Europe so hoping to squeeze in a Roe & Muntjac hunt in England.

Good luck to all. ;)

Namibia in late April for a week’s management hunting. Oryx, blue wildebeest and hartebeest. Looking for a couple of buffalo cows to hunt. Preferably in Zimbabwe.
Bavaria, Germany in October for a driven hunt and Czech in December for a driven hunt.

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
