I'm putting my Zeiss Varipoint 1.1-4x24 up for sale. Glass is clear and the exterior finish is near flawless. This is the model with the red dot reticle. These models were renown for their light transmission and by most accounts outperform today's optics for light transmission. Asking $900 obo.

Can you tell me the outside diameter of the eyepiece? I have a tight fit with my safety.

Eye piece diameter is listed as 40mm. I will verify for sure when I get back home tonight or tomorrow
I measured this morning and got just a hair over 1.5" which would confirm the 40mm I found listed on a spec sheet online.

These have a small dot even if the power if off, but for running shots the red dot is way better. Nice scope. GLWS

Yes, small black dot when the scope is off. My understanding is these scopes were made for fast target acquisition especially in driven hunts.

Price reduced to $800. The Black Friday deals have me looking at rifle parts for a build I'm doing.

Yes it was for driven hunts this was made . Not often to see one for sale either , good scope for the many tasks ahead

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR MY RIFLE, ALWAYS APPROACH A NEW LOAD CAUTIOUSLY!!*
Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
