ZIMBABWE: 10 Day Non-Trophy Buffalo Hunt

If you are looking for buffalo I highly recommend getting in touch with Dave Langerman, an absolute gentleman and superb PH. Dave and his team worked extremely hard, Dave's trackers are also outstanding. Tracking that second bull on day 5 for hours through very very thick bush was very impressive. I also need to mention the apprentice PH that was with us, young Jodie was an absolute pleasure to hunt with and worked just as hard as anyone else I have seen in the field, even at a young age she demonstrated all the the attributes you want to see in a PH. Jodie is definitely going to be a superstar and a fantastic PH in her own right in the future.

I also can't say enough good things about the camp staff and the BVC in general, the camps are amazing, the food was unbelievably good. There is a huge amount of game, we saw our target species everyday even though it's early season and the bush is very thick, absolutely amazing hunting.
@Aussie_Hunter - those bulls ALL look like TROPHIES to Me….I would be very pleased with any of them on any hunt ! Congratulations

Wow, beautiful old bulls. Question, why is this a non-trophy hunt? Are you not exporting the mounts?

These buffalo are exportable

Well done, some nice bulls!

Congratulations on your fantastic hunt, @Aussie_Hunter.

As I was reading your hunt report, it felt like watching one of those informercials. "Not one, not two...wait there is more!!" I certainly didn't expect 3 buffaloes in the books. Well done Aussie_Hunter.

They are exportable and I am exporting them, it's just the terminology used.

Thank you for your reply. Is the term "non-trophy" used due not meeting a certain criteria, like size, etc, et? I would have been extremely happy with any of them, and in my book, they are trophies. My apologies not trying to be difficult or anything like that, just asking to learn for future considerations. Congratulations again!

Correct, it's due to horn size. 38" and up is considered a trophy bull.
Thank you and I agree, I am extremely happy with all 3 bulls.

That's great, since I don't measure any animals I take. I judge the trophy by the adventure behind it. I may reach out to you one of these days and ask you some questions. Thank you for your reply.

Not a problem, feel free to reach out anytime. I have plenty more photos, including photos of the camp etc.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris

I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
