ZIMBABWE: Zimbabwe With Dalton & York

Old blue bull! Perfect

By the looks of your hat are you having the hunt filmed?

Day 8 seeing a lot more elephant movement. Weather is clearing up starting to get hot. As I was in the back dreaming about elephants Vzito started opening my gun case and saying waterbuck! Got out the truck he was laying about 80 yard got the sticks up and he heard us. Right when he stood up 1 shoot dropped him in his tracks.

Great bull. Once again, congrats¡

Day 13 we have been seeing I want to say well over 100 elephants a day. Still after tuskless and dagga boys which we had been seeing daily until of course I got my bull and it is dagga boy time nothing yet. To say this has been a dream hunt is understatement. Still processing my thought to write a report.
Yes this hunt is being filmed by Untamed which I got Vaughan to join the forum @VaughanVoslooUNTAMED .

Day 14 started off at 5am. As we were turning the corner an old cow elephant came out of the thick bushes. We stopped the car and waited to see if more elephant would come out. Before I know this cow gives us loud roar!!!! Then starts heading straight towards us. I am in the back of the pickup truck with the trackers and he was coming straight towards me. As York turned on the car and started driving while we were all yelling at this elephant he came within a few feet from ramming us. As we take off, mind you we are in thick stuff with s very bumpy road. There was a large dip in the road so York had to slow down. Thats when the cow rammed the rear of the truck!!! The trackers loud yelling turned into a high pitch screams. Then tried to grab one of the trackers with its trunk. Luckily he was able to get down and nearly missed getting hit or even worse wrapped up with the trunk. That’s when York put the peddle to medal and we took off with the elephant is roaring and charging at us. No one was hurt and we all got a good scare early in the morning. The rear bumper was bent and rear door was damaged. We did get some footage which I will post up shortly.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
