I can try these. I have played with a few Atomic 29 projectiles. I’ve been over to Naracoorte and was introduced to Cameron.

As for the 7x64 I guess I hadn’t got to trying these yet but Im able to access the local range so it’s an option. The load data from the seller is an accurate load but I like to try things.

I have Atomic 29 projectiles loaded for my .300wm I can only get around 1” with that from any load but it’s probably reasonable accuracy for hunting. I’m thinking Sambar.

Chris I worked up some loads for my Whelen with the 220gn atomics. 3/4" groups and 2,900 fps. Have yet to shoot something with them.

Hey mate,

Have you considered using the Aussie made Atomic 29 projectiles in your wife's rifle?
I just checked their website and they make a 135gn projectile.
I'm not sure what speed you'd get from a bullet that weight... over 3000fps?

I can completely vouch for these projectiles as these are what l use in my 425 Express and what l used in my 308 Norma.
They shoot really accurately

After testing the load .264 provided I decided to try 4 powders each with a minimum charge to see if I can get a good group.

It seems the slower powders produced tighter groups with the best coming from the AR2213sc.

Even AR2209 was decent but beat by the next load that came in sub moa and hitting a little high at 100m

I’m gonna try another 3 at that when I go to test some Woodleigh in a similar test.

Using a 22mm stationary sticker as the aiming mark in the back of old cardboard signs.

Rushed things at the range yesterday but Woodleigh loads confirm the rifle’s preference to slower powders.

What load are you using Chris. With those 140s you should be up around the 3,000 to 3,150+ fps

Testing some minimum loads atm.
I originally wanted a 7mm-08 for the wife or a 7x57 but the 7x64 was a good deal.

So, starting on minimum charge weight looking for accuracy so she gets comfortable behind it.

Still could change things up yet but on Fallow or Feral's I think it will do the job.

She has asked if it would kill a Camel, I’m sure it will and I’m almost certain that I would load 160gn Woodleigh for the purpose if I get the chance. I have 44 left so they are on ice for now but I have 3 accurate loads.
The 140gn Woodleigh are on at 100 and the others are hitting high.

Will have some ready for the next adventure.

If you want I could tag along with the Whelen loaded with some nice 250s at 2,700fps or for some real smack'em down some nice 310 Woodleigh rnsp at 2,455 fps.
Just saying incase the 7mm won't do.
What ever the 7x64 or the Whelen you will end up with a very dead camel.
While you are at it bring your Von Gruff to take some nice back straps and other beautiful camel meat.

Nothing planned as yet Bob.

It’s interesting as the wife asked if it would take a Camel. Was an afterthought for me but I’m a pest shooter so I’m good with that. Probably take some cuts with a Von Gruff knife to make some Smallgoods.

I have sufficient calibre, range and energy to drop Australian game if I can line it up but be sure to let you know if I can bring you along with a Whelen loaded to full potential.
