Thinking about calibres not available like 318 Westley Richards or 333 Jeffery ....or the last sanctuary of a rogue the 303Brit ..... Decisions Decisions ...but thank you for the advice very useful
Of those three choices:
- The 318 would likely not need extractor modification.
- The 333 Jeffery would ne a dimension change. Some cost
- The 303 would need to have the ejector re shaped. More cost, and you need a good smith.
If you want what I consider to be in you category of "not available"... Then I would unashamedly go for the 350 rigby. A true classic, that is a very well designed case. Loads up to 270gr, which in a Ruger no.1 would have the energy and penetration to take a buff. Loaded with 200-225gr bullets is flat and fast for NA sized game. Has that sexy Rigby name. Your extractor would take a little dimension change (less than 40 thou). But you would have a true medium bore.
