Chapuis Iphisi 375 H&H

I have owned 4 different 9.3x74 and 8x57R Chapuis doubles over the years and Chapuis make a very nice affordable double. Have also bought and traded rifles with Champlin and they are a fine company to deal with. My 9.3 is my favorite rifle I own.

Thank you for sharing your personal experience!

I need another gun like I need a third house. But will it accept a Doctor Mounts to mount a Leica Red Dot?
I don't know the answer to that off hand. It has the optional factory plates cut to accept Warne rings. Let me see if I can find an answer to your question...

Anyone following who may know, please feel free to chime in. Thanks.

The Chapuis Iphisi has factory installed mounting plates;
  • Top rib machined for accepting Talley rings

Talley rings fit mount groves of 11.7mm

Warne rings measure 21mm

Below is a reflex sight "footprint" compatability chart.
Doctor sights are compatable with popular Vortex Burris footprint.

I could not find a 12mm "rib" mount for Doctor/Vortex but this is the Trijicon footprint RM57 12mm mount.

Maybe others have sources for 12mm Doctor / Vortex / Burris footprint quick release mounts? Anyone?

One could of course have the Iphisi mount plates and/or rib drilled and tapped for lower fixed reflex sight mount. The Henneberger mount is available. I switched from the quick release RM57 for my SRO to the fixed henneberger. These are available via Optics Trade and shipped from Europe.

I could not find the correct mounting plate for Doctor / Vortex / Burris but I am sure Optics Trade have them, https://www.optics-trade.eu/us/
This is where I ordered mine for Trijicon and Aimpoint Micro footprints. Delivery took about four weeks.

A machinist will need to open the bottom of these plates. Simple enough for a keen eye and sharp file to do if necessary.

Thank you Mark, and yes, Talley rings are what is compatible. Not Warne as I stated. My listing includes case colored Talley Rings.

I really appreciate your bringing your knowledge to my listing. The optic compatibility chart is very helpful.

Folks,
I don't know @etsonaut and he isn't paying me anything...

This Chapuis Iphisi in .375 H&H with mounting bases that will mate to the included case hardened Talley scope rings, or RM57 quick detachable mount for Trijicon RMR or SRO is a great buy at $8500!

He isn't giving this away but I doubt one will find a better buy.
I think 375 H&H is the cartridge for a one rifle Africa hunt.
Call this Iphisi a dual-purpose African rifle for plains and dangerous game.

PS: The RM57 and RM56 mounts availability comes and goes but presently the RM57 is available from an eBay seller: https://www.ebay.com/itm/276576738240

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
