Its that time of year again!

For those that will be attending TTHA in Dallas in January, the mdwest house will be hosting another @Bos en Dal SAFARIS party at our home the night of January 11th (Saturday).

This will be the third year we've done this (the past two years we did the event during DSC). Both times have been really good events with lots of door prizes (everything from small trinkets up to a buff cow hunt last year), lots of good food, enough liquor and beer to float a battleship, and plenty of good people to hang out and chat with (last year we just just over 60 people in attendance)..

Threads from the prior years parties are below...

I dont anticipate as large of a crowd this year as last.. but however many want to come, we can/will accommodate..

TTHA's Saturday hours are from 9AM until 7PM.. We'll open the doors of the mdwest house at 8PM (give myself and @Bos en Dal SAFARIS and a few others that are working booths a chance to get home before most of the crowd arrives).. party ends at midnight (you dont have to go home.. but you cant stay here... :) )...

We're out in the suburbs on the north end of town in Allen, TX.. its roughly a 30-35 minute drive from Kay Bailey (assuming no wrecks on the interstate, etc).. its a pretty straight shot/easy drive.. just hop on 75 out of downtown and take it all the way to Allen.. we're about a mile off the interstate..

More to follow on door prizes, the menu (I know 8PM is a bit late for dinner... but bring your appetite.. theres always tons of good food available), etc as we get closer to the event..

As with previous years, I dont want to put a home address out for all the world to see.. so if interested in attending, just shoot me a PM and I'll send over an address..

Thanks! We look forward to seeing everyone again and kicking off 2025 the right way!

You and your wife are truly great examples of the best of AH!!! While I have not been able to attend your dinners I have heard nothing but incredible raves about them!!! Much appreciated!!!!

What is TTHA? I don't get out much. LOL

Man, if I can swing that, I’ll try to be there. Appreciate the effort you do!

What is the sense from folks on TTHA attendance by Africa outfitters who would normally attend DSC? I know of a couple who aren’t going to Atlanta because it is too costly to transport all their booth materials. We live in Florida and thought we would go to Atlanta this year. 2016 was as our last time attending DSC.

It will be interesting to see how this first Outdoors Extravaganza goes. TTHA has had a very successful series of summer hunting shows across Texas. Simply put, there was an opening available at the convention center and many who won't go to Atlanta so TTHA decided to create a new event.

The summer TTHA shows already had a number of international outfitters exhibiting to include a few AH sponsors…

I know of at least a few more AH sponsors like @JKO Safaris and @Bos en Dal SAFARIS that are also now manning booths at TTHA..

My guess is it will still be a smaller show than DSC, but that it will be significantly expanded over their typical summer shows and will be much more geared toward international hunting than the shows in the past..

I am beginning to wonder about this event. They have still not started selling tickets and there is nothing on their website except the original ad. It's not even on their calendar of events. Any insiders here on AH that know anything?

It is odd that it’s not on their calendar… my guess is they haven’t updated it in sometime and they haven’t thought of adding it. They have the 3 normal shows they do every year listed for 2025, but nothing beyond that.. as well as those same 3 shows that happened in 2024..

What I can tell you is in the last 30 days they made final arrangements with all of the registered vendors and assigned them all their booth numbers… and that they have sent out multiple emails and made calls to the vendors… there’s also been some local advertising (saw the same billboard on Dallas parkway they always use to advertise the Fort Worth show announcing the event recently)…

I also know of at least 4 AH sponsors that have booths there as well as 2 other companies where the owners are members of AH.. I’d guess there are several more.. I just haven’t reviewed the vendor registration list (just got this information by talking to the companies personally)…

Thanks for the updates.

We'll make sure to hoist a nice glass of gin in your honor (or perhaps several! :) )..

hate that we'll miss you @norfolk shooter .. we'll make it work out sooner or later.. Im going to guess you'll have a great time in Atlanta... just dont go wandering around in Mechanicsville or Vine City after dark and you'll be fine! :)

Whenever we do finally link up, I'll have to tell the story of how my wife and I ended up at a theater production at a venue in Vine City.. dressed in cocktail attire, arriving in a fairly upscale vehicle... not realizing until we got there that we'd be the only very light skinned people sitting in a 3000 seat room on a historic black university campus lol...

We actually had a great time.. I think the other 2998 people present were just as confused as we were as to how we ended up there.. and were wondering what the hell we were were thinking.. we got along with the folks sitting next to us like old friends though, and ended up going to some late night soul food joint with them after the show was over and all laughed at each other until we cried lol... once we got it all figured out they became convinced that we were either the smartest, or the stupidest white people they ever met.. and couldnt decide which one it was lol..

(the theater production was about a Nigerian businessman that is also a marxist revolutionary, that is constantly getting screwed over by white Europeans and white Americans trying to steal his business or get his government to collapse his business)..

greater details of the story are best told over many glasses of fine whiskey lol..

@mdwest im of Indian origins so I should be ok with a bunch of black folks but you never know. Normally in the USA people hear my British voice and go all funny

PM coming your way. Can we figure out some kind of name badge this year? That's my only request to improve your wonderful efforts.

Already worked out and planned into the event :)

Free booze and ... i forgot the rest.
You really know how to grab my attention.

I'm a tentative but this is right in the middle of my UK trip timeframe.
Even if I don't make it, I think it's quite classy how you and several others on here sponsor and support the social occasions.
