Is anyone using a red dot sight on their CZ 550 ?

I did, so bought a comb riser from Midway USA. It came with several different pads so I could get the correct fit.
I should add on my current.416 I have a picatinny rail that the RMR is attached to. Just easier for me to take off and put a Trijicon scope on it. That’s the reason for the need to raise the comb for me anyway.

I like the looks of that SRO , and I’d say the 2.5 MOA would be good?
Select the smallest dot available, a 1 MOA in the SRO.
Why? As one increases the intensity of the dot on a sunny day, the dot size grows.
Add to that any astigmatism one may have making the dot even larger and egg shaped, your dot blob may vary.

Does anyone find that the RMR/SRO on the AHR mount are taller than a “low mount” scope ?
I shot some snapshots of a RMR, SRO, and 1" scope rings for a CZ 550.

Height from base to top of Warne 1" scope ring is 45+mm

Skull, if you’re not sure. I’ll send you my SRO 1 with 1 MOA to try out. Look up the Marks post on the pros and cons of the SRO1 vs the smaller RMRs

Thanks. Well demonstrated! I went with the lowest RMR and a 1" dot on your recommendation a few years ago and used it on buffalo last fall. It worked very well and yes lower mount helps keep your head lower and aids in a faster recover for next shot (if you keep the rifle mounted to your shoulder).

If there´s a good mount available where you´re at you might want to look into an Aimpoint Acro. It has a closed emitter so it´s not as sensitive to dust etc as some other suggestions and it´s designed to be mounted on pistol slides (which are subject to very high acceleration) so the recoil of a 505 should not be a problem at all. I might be a little biased because it´s one of very few internationally known gun related Swedish companies but I don´t think anyone can honestly call Aimpoints bad.

That is a very gracious offer and I thank you very much for that - after seeing Mark’s pictorial of the sizes I think I will lean towards the smaller RMR after all. Again, I appreciate the offer sir !

My Trijicon MOA left on my [emoji6][emoji[emoji6]] Lott mounted with predator apex mount next to [emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6]]]@DWB 's [emoji6][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]] Rigby.

Now that’s a low mount! Love it.

Look at the new Trijicon RMR HD. It has a top loading battery and a few other refinements over the tried and true base RMR.

Also review the new Trijicon RCR which is an enclosed emitter RMR. No kidding, the Trijicon guys told me that they simply enclosed the new RMR HD ! The RCR has the RMR footprint.

As much as I like the Trijicon RMR and SRO for their small 1 MOA dots, ruggedness, and small size, I also like Aimpoint products. The smallest dot available on the Aimpoint ARCO is 3.5 MOA but my old Aimpoint H1 reflex sights's 2 MOA dots are about the same size as the 1 MOA dots of my Trijicons. Plus, no serious Precision Pistol competitiors use RMRs. Rather they like me use Aimpoints for thier precise tracking, i.e. 1 click equals x amount of point of impact movement on a target each and every click!
The ARCO has a built in Picatinny Rail mount.

Reza Call me any time you want to talk about Elephant. hunting and CMS.
I've hunted two Elephant with CMS.
In 13 African safari's and an equal number of North American hunts, BUZZ is the best guide I have ever hunted with.
