10 for 11 is a very good success rate. Great to see Louisiana back hunting black bears. Several big ones but that 696 pounder is a huge one!

Cool story. I wonder what the population is currently and what the minimum count needed to be at to establish a season.

Was just about to post this story.

Here i was thinking we didn't have anything but over-sized trash pandas in this state. Guess I thought wrong.

They need to open it next year into Concordia, Point Coupee, and West Feliciana, maybe even the north end of West Baton Rouge parish.

This is a great success story. Growing up in South Louisiana during the late fifties, sixties and early seventies, black bear were about as rare as Sasquatch. Back in the seventies, an old trapper duck guide friend of mine told a story of the year he took three in the Atchafalaya Basin. Had to have been in the late twenties.

And yes, that was huge animal.

Link won’t open for me . I get this

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
