All this lunacy driven by the theory of human caused green house gases warming the planet. Here’s a question for the believers. If that were the case what accounts for the earth experiencing at least 5 major ice ages followed by rapid warming cycles accompanied by similar cyclic fluctuations of atmospheric green house gases? Last I checked human industrialization, which is blamed for the green house gas warming theory by the enviro-sheeple, dates no earlier than and beginning about 1850. Every atmospheric CO2 plot over time during the latest warming cycle lags behind a super-imposed plot of temperature over time. How can that be if atmospheric CO2 as a green house gas is driving the warming? The real answer is stupidly simple but the brainwashing of huge portions of populations is insidious. No amount of calling BS or diplomatically sane scientific explanation, no matter how simple the science is, can alter the warped thought process locked into the psyche of a brainwashed population.

And from a Mankind perspective also! As much corn is used for fuel thrse days as livestock feed. More people all the time but less land for farming and ranching to produce food, fuel, fiber, liquor, and pet food. The 5 big catagories demanding that the Agriculture Industry produce more of. Those screaming Chinamen have switched from parakeets and crickets to cats and dogs for pets. That has created a huge new demand for pet food.

But now we are taking out prime farm land to install solar panels. They not only install the posts and panels. They push out the topsoil and build roads to service the panels. Not to mention all the power lines.

And what really gets me is doing it in cloudy or snow covered Minnesota! It is all because the government is doling out huge tax credits and other incentives. The actual market would never support this. However as you mentioned, they are also raising our rates. This is not at all financially or environmentally sustainable.
And those panels cannot be recycled. They bury them. Talk about wasted resources. Then consider all the birds that are killed by those blades. You don't hear any greenies squealing about that. All pure dirty politics.

Both solar and wind are at best a fool's errand and in some cases disastrous- both economically and environmentally. Crunch them however you want, the numbers don't work. The CCP is laughing all the way to the bank while the West cripples itself economically and the world suffers environmentaly. I even see some grasping at straws again with hydrogen, sheesh.
"The CCP is laughing all the way to the bank while the West cripples itself economically". IMO you hit the nail right on the head. Just as Putin played Europe with promising them "cheap natural gas forever" while watching them dismantle their oil/gas infrastructure and then Putin invades Ukraine, China is playing the World with promises of carbon and CO2 reduction while STILL building two coal fired plants a WEEK! They have NO intention of hampering the growth of their economy with a reduction of coal/oil fired energy. IMO Putin should've waited another 2-3 years before invading Ukraine and let Europe COMPLETELY dismantle their ability to produce energy and he would have had them by the balls. Putin's arrogance was his downfall. Our stupidity regarding climate change will be our downfall.

I guess Mike Johnson is now a RINO and swamp creature to the bellyache - I mean Freedom - caucus? It must be amazing how different the world suddenly looks when forced to govern rather than simply shout and pose for constituents.

Very few politicians are motivated to help their constituents. It’s not very surprising that Mike Johnson feels pressure and falls in line.

I don’t know whe threw the first stone, but one thing is for sure is that you all live in the same glass house. When will someone strong enough, smart enough, unselfish enough and wise enough come along to prepare the USA for what is coming.

I have just been reading that as well. That should help the IDF immensely. It is my understanding that Hamas has built multiple levels of tunnels and storage even under the subterranean levels of the hospital. This "Watership Down" may prove a bit more troublesome.
Hopefully Hamas doesn't have any Woundworts....

I don’t know who threw the first stone,
Spending money using an unlimited debt credit card develops inertia and the federal agencies who spend the money have so much inertia that it is showing to be in control. Those in congress who authorize the spending are unable to even slow the building of debt, so likely history will repeat itself and America will show that it was no different from numerous other countries that followed the same path.

In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh , had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior: "A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which Democracy is) always followed by a Dictatorship."

"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage."

The Obituary follows, it doesn't hurt to read this several times:

"United States of America"
"Born 1776, Died 2024"

Using 2018 as an example the total government revenue was $3.3 trillion. Below is where the money went - $4.14 trillion.

Now, non-defense discretionary is 16%. So, if we spent nothing discretionary other than defense, we'd still be at $3.48 trillion.

The parties basically fight over that 16% of the pie. What would you cut, disaster relief, highway repairs, border agents, education...? All part of that discretionary slice.

What would you cut,
That horse has left the barn long ago. The problem was started because people were seeking solutions to problems through the lens of their work ethic. As such the solutions had unintended consequences. To cure the original problem at this point would be unacceptable because there are too many interests that would be disrupted. So we'll just continue to make things more unsustainable for the next person in office to solve. Then that person for the next until things collapse.

Spending discipline will be hard to regain since the government has decided that it can forever finance deficits by selling securities like Treasury Bills to governments and individuals world wide. Every day, Uncle Sam peddles these instruments to a world that desperately needs a safe haven. There really is no better option.

That doesn’t mean it will always be so. Our deficit spending drives up inflation. Inflation inevitably drives up the cost of borrowing (I.e., interest rates.) When interest rates were historically low,the cost of borrowing wasn’t a big deal. It’s about to become a very big deal.

Unless the government starts to reign in spending or raise taxes to an unbearable level, it will end. One sunny Monday morning, there will be a bond sale and no one will buy. It’s the same as your bank cutting you off. Spending discipline will be forced on us.

On this subject the Australian Guvmint has just slashed funding for major infrastructure projects; rail, road, and more. We're going broke even faster that the "old Zimbabwe" did ...

Driving across Tx on the way to hunt cranes in NM, solar farms and windmills are taking over. My hunting buddy is a USDA land use consultant in Mississippi, according to him the solar farms in MS are leasing the land for $700 per acre per year with a 10 year lease with a 5 year option at the end. The catch is after the 10/15 years the solar company walks away and the land owner has to dispose of all of the equipment. No one knows how much it will cost to dispose of all of the panels and it can’t be good for the environment.

I've heard numbers in the $1800 to $2000/acre range on the leases....

My last time driving across West Texas i needed a break and pulled over near these things. The one was really bad but looking around, many had lesser oil stains. Been seeing more and more of them leaking oil and we even saw a wind farm with several broken blades after a storm had gone through. They are obviously having maintenance issues as these things start to age.

Solar panels, the asbestos of the future.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
