I could not agree more. Frankly I am in awe of the knowledge base of many of you, and it is fun to learn. I feel a bit sheepish: my own areas of expertise are much, much less important: how to make bad-ass gravy, running an effective elementary classroom, planning for remote hunts and also remote EE classes for teens, how to paint a fish... not exactly helpful to this group. So I will keep listening and learning.

Just saw an interview by Bret Baier with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. Seems like a smart, low key and well spoken guy. Since I really don’t know much about him, I Googled him and was surprised what I found. Bessent is openly gay and worked with George Soros as a hedge fund manager back in the 90s and made a ton of money while working with him. I guess I was asleep during Bessent’s confirmation hearing because I don’t recall hearing about any of this.

Since I really don’t know much about him, I Googled him and was surprised what I found. Bessent is a low key guy.. but don't let him fool you... he is a velociraptor.. an absolute apex predator in his field... once Lutnick gets confirmed as the commerce secretary, the Dems are going to be reeling far worse than they currently are... Trump has plans for Commerce and Treasury working closely together to achieve several of his economic policy objectives..

Throw some more Elon into that mix, and shit is going to get incredibly interesting incredibly fast..

What is astounding to me is that Russia and USA are negotiating about Ukraine without Ukraine's presence. It almost makes me believe the conspiracy theories about Putin having something on Trump.

From what I have read Bessent is a bright guy and well respected in the financial industry. His confirmation sailed through easily with good support from Democrats. Bessent helped Musk get access to the general ledger which I doubt a Treasury Secretary has even looked at in my lifetime. Musk evidently found 4.7T of payments without proper transaction codes. A Controller or CFO at even a small company would be fired for allowing something like that to continue for a year. Hopefully Bessent will get good control over Treasury and match all spending to specific appropriations. That would solve many problems.

You're asking the wrong question. Start with "what level of involvement does USAID have here, along with their being benefactors of innumerable NGOs who are influencing things in eastern Europe?". There's a lot more going on here than simply "Putin awful, and Zelensky some degree less awful."

Me too, why Ukraine is not invited to the party is perplexing, especially with Russia being the bully invader. I voted for trump and proud of it ,however his international politics, foreign policy is way above my highwater mark. Having said that, what could the thug , murdering ,commie , spy, have on Trump that the dems. haven't already tried. It would be like me saying I saw you out with another woman last saturday. By the way hows the weather down there still raining?

It’s the Fox report on the Saudi negotiations. They appear to be negotiating to force elections in Ukraine that they are confident will result in a presidential incline to make concessions to Russia in a peace deal.

I doubt the C I A has ever lost an election, but whjo knows maybe their foreign election team got fired?
