Politics

Hardly. Some or most of your examples may not have been “religion-based” at all if carefully examined. But alas, that inspection of the details of historical truth may not fit a narrative that may reveal an inconvenient truth. Many so-called religious wars may not be so religious upon closer examination. They have been conveniently labeled so by atheistic or agnostic historians who also want to create a narrative. Also, “religion” may have been used as a convenient label for rulers or leaders to justify their actions and/or used as a recruitment tool to encourage reluctant conscripts or volunteers to sign up to fight. IMO, most conflicts are primarily based on ambitions for power, control, wealth or resources. Do you really think King Richard of England, during his Crusade, traveled all the way to Jerusalem for the sole purpose of saving Christianity?? I don’t buy it, but you can buy whatever interpretation of history you like. Remember, you are the one who used the Crusades as a prime, generic example of “religious wars”.
Most wars have been the result of politics. Many times those politicians have tried to claim that God was on their side even though it was pretty obvious that religion was not the motivating factor. During WW II, the German (Nazi) uniform buckles stated, :"Gott ist Mitt Uns" (God is with us). Does anyone other than a radical atheist want to suggest that the second world war was fought on religious grounds?

Trump nominates Kash Patel as FBI director. A federal toilet that needs a good flush.
This is the appointment I was looking for.

If you haven't followed Kash's story, please do so.

He has exposed more of the corruption in our justice system than any in the last few decades and the DOJ surveiled him and tried to shut him up.

He will leave no stone unturned. Any GOP senator that does not vote for his confirmation can be likened to the 50 traitors who signed the infamous Laptop letter...

I have a NEWS FLASH for you. No one is excited or happy about killing Palestinian CIVILIAN Muslims or Christians. What people see a need for is the DESTRUCTION of Hamas and other terrorist organizations. Some civilians will.unfortunately die as a result. If the terrorists are not hunted down and destroyed there, they come here. Remember 9/11/01? Nothing very much has changed. Supporting Israel in their war for a right to exist is not a continuation of the Crusades, it is self defense.
I agree they certainly have a right to self defense , I have watched some videos of Palestinians cursing and slamming HAMAS and even saying Israel is their friend as they escape again to avoid bombing, just wish Isreal could be a little more discriminate than bombing entire hospitals or apartment buildings as we were in 2nd Battle of Fallujah, Iraq. Hamas is a traitor to their own people, I dont have a dog in the fight, I just know Jesus loves all the little children of the world, as of Acts 10.
Back in the day when I served" I was a kill em all and let God sort em out," I've have since changed a little in my perspective. I wish countries would target these bastard leaders who start this stuff . But it wont happen and their poison affects the minds of of the young , the restless, and those who see their families killed on both sides,,
What happened to the Abraham accords? Iran is another example of hateful old religious leaders full of arrogance and deceit , while the people languish under their religious intolerance. and yes, there are Christians in Iran, more every day.
as for the"crusades" that was a hyperbole statement, sorry to all those I offended, sincerely.

@cwpayton Paragraphs are your friend. That wall of text blinded me.

And now for the totally unexpected....... Biden pardons Biden.

After a year of saying he would not…

But.. Joe has been a lying dirt bag his entire life… so no real surprise…

With Bondi and Patel at the helm, Biden must be nervous, and pardons his misbegotten offspring, after he originally said he wouldn't.
A democrat going back on their word is no big surprise.

I hope Trump pardons himself on everything
Anyway to get his money back from that phony rape case?

A question for the US lawyers: The pardon covers all offences committed in the period Jan. 1, 2014 to Dec. 1, 2024. Therefore it not only covers the firearm charges and the Tax charges, but also the period of alleged bibery kickbacks etc for which allegedly Biden Snr recived a percentage.
Now that Hunter has been granted a pardon, does that mean he can no longer claim the 5th if questioned about those matters?

From afar it is clear that the Democrats, and the Biden circle in particular are giving the Third World a master class in corruption and deceit. No more moral high ground to call out African countries from. This will never go away.

That’s a State civil case. A POTUS pardon would not apply. Also, he has put up a bond as it is being appealed but has not paid anything out yet.

There is one possible loophole in all of that. If the new AG can make a case, and prove that Trump was being politically targeted, those cases can be brought to the Federal level. Yes?

I dont think the case itself can be moved from the state to the federal courts very easily.. If I understand correctly the only way that happens is if the case could have been filed in federal court in the first place (if its clearly a matter of state law only, then it has to stay in the state)..

That said, it can be appealed to the federal level IF a "federal" question needs to be answered (was the ruling constitutional? was the crime the defendant was accused of constitutional? etc etc)..

All of that said.. It would be in the interest of the state court to dump this matter faster than the hottest of potatoes..

A sitting POTUS isnt going to jail and isnt going to suffer any consequences of any crime that any state might demand they face..

A sitting POTUS however has the power and authority to cause A LOT of pain and suffering to the state attempting to screw with him.. (while NOT directly impacting its citizens)...

Want to watch "lawfare" in action? A lot of states attorneys and state justices will get very uncomfortable when federal courts and federal agents start sniffing around their courts looking for the slightest bit of evidence of impropriety or malfeasance..

Its one thing to "fire" Jack Smith...

Its quite another thing to make sure Jack Smith pays for his antics with jail time (for anything he might have done in the last decade) or make sure Jack Smith has to spend the next 4 years of his life (and hundreds of thousands of dollars) defensing against all the crimes he could be accused of.. (as an example)..

Democrats get pissed off when their own games get played against them.. (ie Nuclear Option introduced by Harry Reid and then used against them.. 2005 judicial nominations for example..)...

Trump could turn lawfare into a tide turning game with permanent and unrecoverable consequences for a lot of D's if he chose to do so.. unlike Trump, who is a billionaire and can afford to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on quality defense, and has the support of at least 50% of the people.. your typical D circuit court judge or state level senator is going to have a hell of a time warding off the wolves if it comes to that..

Alan Dershowitz stated awhile back that the state cases against Trump need to be explored for constitutionality/ political targeting/election interference.

Trump now has the opportunity to do so. Otherwise, they just wait for his 4 years to be over

The thing about the Biden pardon, it goes back to 2014 when Hunter took his position at Barissma. So the Biden’s skate again. If all of this was a hoax why it go all the way back to 2014.

One more question, now that Hunter can’t be charged anymore, if Jim Biden or another family member gets charged can Hunter invoke the 5th amendment since he can’t be charged with anything he says? If he is called to testify.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
