Your right of coarse I’m sure given there closeness with the nature they live in they also use red hats the way nature intended to mark a pile of bovine fecal matter.

If we’re going to continue to trade barbs do try to keep up a battle of wits is much more enjoyable when both combatants are armed.
I just sit back and laugh at people like you, knowing full well that Trump is living rent free in that tiny misguided mind, while making my country a better place.

Trump came as heaven sent to Putin. Trump ought to recieve The order of Saint George. No american president have yet been nominated for this honorable medal.
Hero of the federation

Then why did Putin wait until Biden was in office instead of invading while Trump was in his first term?

Because he knew Biden was week & corrupt; I mean there is another Hunter laptop out there and we know it was stolen by a hooker that was a Russian asset - The secret service had to respond to a hotel in L.A. because Hunter paid a Russian pimp in America by electronic transfer; only he made 2 mistakes...

1. He mistakenly transferred $20,000 in stead of the $2,000 he meant to send.
2. He transferred the money from an account that was a joint account with his father.

So yeah, $20,000 being transferred to a known Russian asset/pimp from an account with the vice president of the USA's name on it raised some red flags!

The secret service literally responded to the hotel and by that time the hooker/spy had already left with Hunter's laptop as he was passed out from a crack binge..... God knows what was on it and Biden knew Putin had that laptop before he even ran for president; the infamous laptop from hell that was left at a repair shop came later.

Yes - Hunter had 1 laptop stolen by a Russian spy/hooker with god knows what on it and then left a second laptop at a repair store.....

So armed with laptop #1's contents, then Joe Biden pulled out the national disaster that was the Afghan with drawl.......

So between the laptop and Afghan with drawl, Biden might as well have fired a starting pistol for Russia to invade.

That about evens us up then I’ve entertained my at your expense most of the day. I wrote you off on having anything of value to add to a conversation within the first hour of conversation. The only disappointment I’ve had today is your buddy neophyte abstaining from weighing in. Must be no signal in his cave today.

See my earlier post with the anecdote about the security guard a few pages back.

Not disagreeing with you, but what you aren't taking into account is Putin, his world perspective, and Russian politics. Putin isn't going to back down on Ukraine being a NATO member as the result of this, he's just not. He will lose his grip on Russia if he does by looking weak in the face of an unpopular war at home. He will double down if NATO admits Ukraine as a member right now, and we end up with an even bigger mess at that point. I think that was what Trump was referring to the other day in the WH, i.e. risking WWIII to Zelensky. I think Trump understands that there needs to be a "way out" for Putin, he's looking for one, but think he was getting push back from Zelensky on it, then the crap hit the wall. Just my take on it.

I'm mostly in agreement with this.
It seems to me that Russia views Ukraine joining NATO as an existential threat. I'm not using that metaphorically.
And the US, UK, et. al, think Putin is simply bluffing.

It's hard to tell when he (Putin) tells the truth as he's former KGB and has a track record of (as the British say) being less than economical with the truth. But it's a helluva gamble. Why risk it?

The tariffs when first announced were to due to trade deficit, only once it became clear that a trade deficit was not a legitimate reason was security mentioned. I find it hard to fathom anyone believes the tariffs imposed on Canada have anything to do with security. Personally I find it hard to believe trump cares about drug users at all I’m surprised he hasn’t defunded Narcan and let the problem sort it’s self out seems like it would be much more in line with his modus operandi.
I think we're just simply speaking past each other. The "reason" (valid or not) has always been national security, as that is the only legitimate exercise of Presidential authority.

Heck, don't take my word for it! Let's just simply go back to post #1 on this thread: "The USA has labelled both Canada and the EU as threats to their "National Security" in order to justify new duties declared by their military Commander-in-Chief on the international trade of steel and aluminum... "

Yeah, a lot of water under the bridge since then... and a lot of posturing.

Agree with you. Actually outlined Putin's past and his world view in an earlier post. He is ex-KGB and the truth is a convenience for him, when needed. That said, he's still looking for a way out of this mess, IMO. This war is not popular in Russia, the death toll has been horrendous for the Russians, the import of N. Korean troops was a bust, and their own territory has been occupied and hit. Putin is basically in hiding in his own country surrounded by his personal guard and inner circle, based on the reporting I've read. There is no need here to push him into a corner and make him do something rash, thankfully it looks like Trump knows this. I read earlier today that Zalensky is supposedly going to sign the minerals deal and meet with the US peace negotiators next week. He apparently sent Trump an apology letter that was well received...hopefully Z is beginning to understand the cards he's holding, the mineral deal strengthens his and the Ukraine's hand, and is willing to play the cards in a manner that brings this war to an end.....

On some SCOTUS cases I am a little nerdy and do read the opinion and dissent. Agree with the poster here. This is as blunt as I have ever seen. (I have not had a chance to read the entire opinion/dissent yet on this case)

Believe the WH issued the tariffs per the FAIR AND RECIPROCAL PLAN due to our goods being tariffed by the EU and other countries at a much higher rates than where US tariffs were set, thus causing a significant trade imbalance on many fronts. Here is an excerpt of examples of what US companies have been facing in other countries/markets:

There are endless examples where our trading partners do not give the United States reciprocal treatment.
  • The U.S. tariff on ethanol is a mere 2.5%. Yet Brazil charges the U.S. ethanol exports a tariff of 18%. As a result, in 2024, the U.S. imported over $200 million in ethanol from Brazil while the U.S. exported only $52 million in ethanol to Brazil.
  • The U.S. average applied Most Favored Nation (MFN) tariff on agricultural goods is 5%. But India’s average applied MFN tariff is 39%. India also charges a 100% tariff on U.S. motorcycles, while we only charge a 2.4% tariff on Indian motorcycles.
  • The European Union can export all the shellfish it wants to America. But the EU bans shellfish exports from 48 of our states, despite committing in 2020 to expedite approvals for shellfish exports. As a result, in 2023, the U.S. imported $274 million in shellfish from the EU but exported only $38 million.
  • The EU also imposes a 10% tariff on imported cars. Yet the U.S. only imposes a 2.5% tariff.
  • A 2019 report found that across 132 countries and more than 600,000 product lines, United States exporters face higher tariffs more than two-thirds of the time.

I should clarify I have no issue with the renegotiation of the Canada U.S. trade deal. I have an issue with the outright lies being told on the size of the trade deficit and the underhanded way trump has gone about it.

If he would of stuck to his word and renegotiated in 2026 like the agreement says and provided factual deficit numbers I would still have some respect for him as a business man.

What was Ukraine supposed to do? They were an independent country where a larger, more powerful neighbor was fomenting a civil war within its boundaries. By the way, its predecessor, the Soviet Union, destabilized governments in a similar way across the world during the Cold War. The US and Great Britain had made it clear that they would not honor the implied commitments of the 1994 memorandum. Therefore, like almost every other Eastern European nation, it seized upon NATO and EU membership as its only possible security guarantee.

Seeking such security guarantees hardly excuses Putin's brutal invasion, an invasion, by the way, that has added nearly a thousand miles of NATO border to Russia in hiking distance of St. Petersburg (Finland) and turned the Baltic into a NATO lake (Sweden and Finland). Strategic brilliance on Putin's part.

Of course Ukraine is continuing to fight - just as I pray we would were the PRC to occupy 20% of our country on the West Coast. Every Russian they kill puts additional pressure on Putin to make concessions in any negotiation - at least it did until Trump seems to suddenly support Russia and its aims.

No nation will want to provide a bilateral agreement to defend Ukraine against renewed aggression. The simplest way to provide them with a collective security arrangement is simply gran them NATO membership.

I’m glad somebody else remembers what actually happened. Russian troops and equipment were in Ukraine driving civil unrest in a population that had voted overwhelmingly to be a part of Ukraine. I am getting pretty sick of the revisionist history being spouted by Trump and others.

The trade deficit numbers are tracked by the Federal Government. The latest numbers are from the Biden administration's watch....are you suggesting that the Biden administration "cooked" the numbers?

No I’m saying your president Donald j trump looked into a camera and spouted a number he likely made up in the moment of the top of his head in order to make the deficit appear bigger than what it is.

I’ve posted and quoted it multiple times if you flip back it’s all there.

Short hand is the smallest number trump has quoted=200billion actual number 63billion U.S. windfall on Canadian oil 19 billion.

Yes, 63 billion is the correct number for last year...was actually down a bit from the previous year. I didn't hear Trump use 200 billion, but not saying he didn't. He doesn't always get the numbers correct when he's shooting from the hip, pointed that out myself a few times. I cut leaders of big countries like Trudeau and Trump a little slack when they get numbers wrong just because they have so much thrown at them, and their teleprompters aren't always handy :)

Can you link the actual mainstream media link for this (not conspiracy theory sites)? I had never heard of this story before.

I don’t think having the correct numbers on a teleprompter would stop him from spouting a much larger number if he thought for a minute it would further his cause. Also nobody seems to take into account the difference in population base. The U.S. has a population almost ten times the sizes of the population of Canada. Basic economics says you should import more from us than we do from you you’ve got 10x the consumer base.

U.S.population 340million
Canada population 40million

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
